Last year’s June 8th was Pentecost Sunday according to the Catholic calendar. The funny thing is how the day is commemorated yearly. The masses rejoice at the Holy Spirit coming and dwelling on the apostles and Mary mother of Jesus in theory, but none seem to long for the same experience!
This is how miracles are missed. The lady who had an issue of blood for 12 years didn’t take what she had heard of Jesus theoretically. She had heard He heals; and instantly she thought if I’d only touch the hem of His garment.
The problem with religion is it desists men from asking questions. Or if it allows them, it limits the application of answers.
Someone in this context may ask ‘what is Pentecost?’ They will be given an answer. But they won’t allow the questioning of the next. Some claim that the Holy Spirit only descended on the apostles & can’t on the rest of humanity. Of course they use the notion of humanity being unholy to justify the claim.
They may not acknowledge the other questions like: What did happen when the Holy Spirit came? What signs were there?
The evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit was the speaking of tongues. Naturally, I’m sure a congregant will be tempted to ask ‘if they spoke in divers tongues, and you claim that the Spirit is here now, or on us, why are we not speaking in these tongues?’
That’s when doctrines of the unholiness of humanity are pulled out. ‘That was for only the saints — the apostles. Not you.’
The Bible is as though read and interpreted for the people by the clergy. Some can’t read it. Because if they do they’ll stir the trait of asking the hard questions. But then again, they have been taught not to ask the hard questions. That’s where the younger generation sees a gap and choose the wayward path.
The pentecostal churches are then accused of stealing sheep that belonged to the pope’s holy epithet. But they answer the questions new christians have been asking!
Bottom line is: God should be experienced to the smallest detail. The scriptures must be experienced. If those in the upper room received the baptism of tongues, do not settle unless you receive them. If Christ raised the dead, you should do too. He said we would do greater works than He did. Our place in prayer then must be seeking Him for these greater things!
If God said you’d lend to many nations and not borrow, you should experience this. Remember what I mentioned at the beginning: it’s human to ask questions. Mary asked how it could be that she would conceive without a man! And Gabriel answered her. It is alright to ask how you’d lend to many nations. God will answer you in His own way; or walk with you and transform you into a lender of nations.
This experience is not only for the good stuff. The Bible says we will share in Jesus’ glory and His suffering as well. (Rom 8:17) If Christ suffered for a while, you too might. By this I don’t mean you will suffer as one without a father. This suffering is akin to the pressing of the olive when oil is being extracted. It is purification and consecration.
The point of understanding that you should experience the low detestables as well will give you the grit you need not to run away from those processes. When you get judged wrongly, and many forsake you, remember that Jesus too was forsaken by the disciples at the point towards the crucifixion.
Besides that point, place a demand on the good things as well. If Jesus healed sinners — lepers, who didn’t know Him, how much more you who is in love with Him?! He will heal. But beyond that, He said you’d lay hands on the sick and they’d get well. Press for that until it’s part of you without a doubt.
Most scripture is a template your life should be following. That makes it prophecy, hence, you should be chasing after it, if your life isn’t close to what it says. It is the path by which you must walk. Don’t waste time trying to create your own paths. Your life was written in the volume of that book. Press hard after each promise, and embody it.
The lady who had an issue of blood for 12 years didn’t take what she had heard of Jesus theoretically.
The blind man who sat by the way when he heard that Jesus was passing by cried out ‘son of David, have mercy on me.’ He cried out because he had heard Jesus heals!
What have you heard of Jesus? What has God promised you? Press for it darling.
PRESS FOR It! — till it becomes a reality you live in.

I Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
When Sinmidele sang, “He is breaking religions”, I didn’t understand. But now I do.
We are partakers, not hearers🙌
