Isaiah 48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Weeks ago, Benny Hinn came to Uganda for a healing crusade. On the first day of the conference, the host, Pastor Robert Kayanja, during a bid to get more enthusiastic congregants on the front row suggested to the ushers that the following day, the VVIPs who did not shout for Jesus or clap or dance when required — but acted so dignified should not sit in-front but at the back. He said it in the vernacular, and the interpreter was instructed not to translate it to English.
The delivery was so funny to the Ugandans, or anyone that understood Luganda for that matter. I was watching on YouTube as I couldn’t make it to the actual grounds and I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to share that clip on TikTok. Shortly before bed, I did.
The clip went viral while I was asleep, and in the next few days got to be viewed more than 340,000 times!!! The result? — More than 2900 instant new followers! My digits rose from about 1700 to over 4600 as of today

I was so so dumbfounded and another degree of the fear of the Lord came upon me!

For Instagram, I had never exceeded 1500 yet I had been on there since 2016. God had asked me to engage on TikTok more fervently around January 2024.
Even for Instagram, a recent clip I posted garnered me over 350 followers due to its comic makeup. These were all simple acts of obedience.
Now I am not boasting, as I know I ‘haven’t got there yet,’ but, it is also good to testify of the leaps that happen to us. Sometimes I see christian influencers having over 10,000 followers — 100,000 … and I sigh asking God when I’d get there. This (from my point of view) is not for personal gain, but for the gospel. Let me be clear on that.
It is expected of all of us to increase as disciples of Jesus. Isaiah says ‘of the increase of His government and the peace thereof there will be no end.’
The more follows means the government has been credited increase: that more hear the gospel being preached, receive encouragement and hopefully share it in their circles, or get to know God more.
God teaches us to profit by instructing us as He did me. The instruction may not be in the context of social media but rather in business, parenting, academia, business, stewardship or leadership. You ought then to have a sharp hearing for His still small voice.
I’ll close with one more testimony.
Last year, Cafe Javas one of the biggest Ugandan-based fast food restaurants put out a challenge for the Independence Day. One had to creatively make the Ugandan flag using any materials or objects of choice. The prize was an iPhone16. By then it was about three weeks old. Thus, still very new.
I was excited since the activity was in my line of field: which was art, and deep within I felt God’s approval or wink.
I don’t recall if I prayed much about it; but I remember God giving me a vision of what He required me to make in a flash.
‘You will win. But when you get the phone, sell it to so and so.’
I was months away from my graduation, and I needed to clear my tuition and pending graduation fees for the architecture course which was the most expensive at my university. I had already asked Him to help me clear the monies, and see how He had already provided!
When I made the wooden plaque according to God’s design (like He gave Moses the template of the temple), I posted it on Instagram. I clearly heard Him say, ‘Post this on TikTok as well.’
I emerged the only winner from TikTok. The other four were chosen from Facebook, Instagram & X. This challenge was always put out yearly, and winners were based off number of likes. This time around the basis was the level of creativity a contestant applied in the process and all voting was to be done by the architects of the challenge.
I always cringe and shudder when I remember God instructing me to post via TikTok. If I hadn’t obeyed, I would have not won at all!

With these two testimonies, I daresay God indeed is He, that makes us to profit and leads us in the way we should go. Profiting was the idea and the prophecy of winning. The way I had to go was via TikTok, lest I would have missed the mark.
I pray for you, that God not only opens your eyes up to the ways you will be enriched, but holds you by hand, to show you the hows around it. May you listen to His still small voice, within you, telling you to turn hither or thither as Isaiah 30:21 states.
I do hope to hear your testimony soon!
Continue enjoying His teaching!
Amen
