Scripture & Ideology

Scripture should be able to challenge your thought process. I remember visiting a gym and asking for their daily subscription. The manager mentioned 20,000 shillings. (5.46 dollars). There had been one I visited occasionally that offered half price over weekends.

I tried to sell the idea to the manager, as though I was an ideal customer. I walked away, having had the man end that I’d rather do 3 quarters the expected amount.

I remember God shaking His head at me saying, ‘If I said you would lend to many nations and not borrow, I expect you to act towards it, and not against it.’

What God meant here, was that even if I hadn’t grown to the level of actual lending to nations, I must live like I would one day. The mentality matters!

As a man thinketh, so is he

You can’t expect to be in charge of billions one day and bear a scarcity mentality. I had to grow to the value the gym charged — not for it to bend away from and beneath its value!

Thankfully, I am not one of those under pressure to live without my means. I simply went to the gym when I’d afford their cash amidst other expenses. Leave that peer pressure that dictates that you need three to four days for ‘gains’! If you can afford it, enjoy away. But if you can’t, don’t get into debt trying to!

Following the previous blogs, I talked about the word of God becoming your nature! When you are constantly having a contrast or clash of thoughts between your mind and His word, it is a good sign that the mind of Christ is indeed being formed in you. (Phil 2:5, 1 Cor 2:16)

These two minds being at war only point to either a peaceful merge, where you will allow your mind to take the hind seat and have His take charge of your thoughts from a certain point on, or it will continue being a battle of dominance and antagonism between flesh and spirit!

No wonder Paul wrote clearly: let this mind be in you. — LET!

Thus, you must yield and suffer the spirit’s mind to gain pre-eminence.

If the word of God has never questioned your decisions, or rarely does so, you must question your devotion to Him! For He said if you love Him you should obey His commands; which commands He wrote …

His word must question your decisions, your inclinations, goals, and vision. If it hasn’t, perhaps you have not read the word concerning that particular issue. Or if you have, your mind battled with His mind, and pretended that it didn’t hear what the admonition said.

If you have read that you must not rob God but give of your income the tithe, but have not, you are stubborn! After His word, it is His Spirit that needs to aid you in that area: to soften your heart, to agree with you so that you can give it!

If His word has encouraged you to be a giver, but still are hard headed, it is simply because His mind is in the passenger seat trying to take you off the steering wheel, but your hands are glued on there!

His mind has to take the front seat! So that even if you hear stories about people who give but seem not to be increasing that it doesn’t register in your mind, to hinder you from giving, but rather, that you become seared in your conscience that whether it is so for others, it will not be for you.

For you: you’ll be watered as you water others, and refreshed as you refresh others. (Prov 11:25)

The challenging in our minds is similar to Jesus’ flipping of tables in the temple. It is figurative to what will happen in your ideologies, or even philosophies. Ideas about parenting, purity, wealth and even sex will be debated. And I do hope you will accept defeat by His word. I do hope you choose truth over the world’s education!

For the truth shall set you free. And who the truth sets free, will be free indeed! Free from peer pressures! And free from worldly pressures!

To reecho once more; Scripture should be able to challenge your ideologies. If it does, then it is proof that you are transforming into another nature which is His word (1 Peter 1:23). If scripture is challenging your thought process, then it is true the mind of Christ is forming (or being formed, or already formed) in your intellect.

If scripture comes up in your mind almost as a reflex action to most of your intellectual faculty activity, then you must be beholding (or have been beholding long enough) as in a glass, that written glory of His, and are being transformed into the very image of what you have been beholding from glory to glory.

That is to say, as for my example, if He said I’d lend to many nations and not borrow, notice how my behavior is changing to critically live as a lender and not a borrower, starting with a change in my perspective and mentality, to eventually grow into the end of the prophecy.

LET — His word challenge you!

  1. I have actually told myself I will not borrow amidst the financial sink, when negative thought tries to come in, I tell my self I’m a lender not a borrower🙌🙌

    Kai this word is life❤️
