Psalms 16:11a You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;
Are you worried about who you will get married to? He will show you the path of life! He’ll let you know who! Are you worried about what career opportunity to pursue? He will show you the path to take!
The path of life includes the number of children to have; and when. It includes academic post graduates, building matters, and everything else that requires decision making from the fields of politics and family to business.
When you have the assurance that He will show you … all anxiety ceases, and you gain peace that surpasses all human understanding. The writer of the passage proves this whenever he longed to pursue other territories — the Philistines for example. God would give Him a go ahead. And if God had negated, still, that would have been the path of life for David for that moment.
Maybe you do not know your calling, or office; perhaps you are torn betwixt ‘a pastor’ and ‘an apostle’. He will show you the path of life! He assured Jeremiah of his identity and even reinforced it, so that he’d stand firm unshaken by identity queries.
Maybe you need new market for your goods! He’ll show you new strategies from the path of life concord.
But the twist here is; you might be waiting for God to come down and talk to you! And yet He isn’t. If you find yourself anxious for example, the path of life He expects you to take is in Philippians 4:6: He doesn’t expect you to worry, but to pray with thanksgiving … If the issue is mortgage, or tuition for kids, before you ask Him for how He’ll provide it — you must ‘be not anxious first…’
Before you ask Him to fill you with joy, His word says ‘In His presence, is fulness of joy.’ Your action should then proceed from the definition of what His presence is! Is it prayer? Is it singing praises to Him? Then you must dart and do those to manifest the joy. You must act like an adult who’s able to walk and find their way to anything in the house, as opposed to being a baby who has to be carried or given what they want by their mother.
You must learn how to walk!
Conclusively, before God begins to show you the path of life by means of direct speech, you must fully comprehend His path of life for you by means of indirect speech — by what His prophets wrote of His voice in His Holy Book! It’s the primary path of life personified!
