His Arm’s Not Short

I have witnessed 3 people get saved primarily not through altar calls, but God chasing them down Himself. Not saying that altar calls should be undermined, but God telling me this gave me a new perspective.

Jackie Hill Perry talks of growing up in church, but with an absent father, and treading the path of lesbianism, God always showed up like Jonah, step by step, until she eventually gave into His holiness.

Over their podcast show with her husband Preston while interviewing Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell, they hinted at God finding them all alone in their bedrooms or bathroom; sort of like He did for Saul the persecutor — but without the blinding.

I am not saying don’t evangelise, but sometimes we think if we don’t, God can’t run His program. It is in fact a privilege to be used as an extension of God’s hand … So let’s not think so highly of ourselves. Allow me explain;

I remember a time when I used to serve at church and thought without me certain things would not run!

Ah! God sat me back and proved that they could.

I wasn’t hurt. I was made to see that He would keep His promise, of building His church; not we, and the gates of hell would not prevail still. It was a humbling experience; and also, it took off my shoulders the pressure to perform. I had reached the point of serving overly, and I could have missed Him during the over service. Pretty much like Martha!

The primary reminder for today’s blog, is to remind us of the sovereignty and limitlessness of God. His omnipotence still stands! He can use visions or dreams to appear to men and cause them to repent! Let us never think that without our participation He can’t get things to run!

I mean — He spoke in the beginning, and chaos gave up order! And last I checked, He didn’t need you or I to enforce that mutation. What is impossible for Him!

Let us remember the supernatural dealings of Him! He can involve a whale if He needs to get salvation to men! He can make a fish throw up silver to cater for your church building’s expenses!

Let us be open to His instruction as we go out to evangelize. And perhaps the evangelism is your lifestyle — secretly compelling millions to live better, convicting them to turn; and eventually, God will hammer the final blow.

Let us not limit God to altar calls! He called Samuel when he was no more than a lad! Literally, a voice the child heard! What makes you think He can’t call a random soul out there to Himself!

O, be magnified O Lord! You are exceeding broad! You are! When you work by us — an honor it is! But I’m so happy, you cannot be limited by man! You are God! And you will always be! We worship you! We worship you O sovereign one! You are mighty to save! You have triumphed! And it is both an honor to partake and participate in this triumph … or even just witnessing it!

Your train fills not only your temple …

But the whole earth!

Be praised!

All the earth shall awe at your boundlessness!

Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Psalms 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
