I AM … OMEGA

This morning, the word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘I give the close of word. I have the final say. I am not only Alpha but also OMEGA.’

He then reminded me of how this was proven so;

‘When Lazarus they had laid in a tomb, four days had passed. Decomposition had already taken course. But I am the beginning and the end. And standing at the end, I had not declared the full stop. I hadn’t blown the whistle to end his life’s match. And so, Lazarus come forth I said.

When the seas raged, and the disciples thought it demise — peace be still I said. And the storm came to calm. (He then reminded me of a time when I miscopied the exam timetable and put the paper in the afternoon; when I showed up, I had missed it, as it happened in the morn, in uttermost disappointment, I remember sighing, ‘How can this work for my good!’ But O, He was Omega)

When they had put you up for the retake months later, I was your end! And if the end had not ended, I called the shots! Did you not get an A, for an exam you didn’t sit for! And weren’t you the best in it! (This always shudders me. None of us are sure if the lecturer marked the scripts, or if she only considered the coursework! But the coursework was group-work! How come I scored higher and better than my group mates! O this causes me to fear Him all the more! We failed to explain it)

Today He’s asking you to let Him be your Omega! He started your life, and so, He holds the right to end it! Yet He’s for you. So do not allow anything else to end it! Let Him give the final word in that situation. Not the world. Not your eyes. Not your feelings. Not your friends. Not your enemies. Not the doctor. Let Him be.

‘Tell my people so.’ He said. ‘Let me be their end. So that, unless I say ‘it’s the end’ no one else can!’

Ahhh, how I pray this sinks in. Your end is not a circumstance! It is a Person! That you can reason with, for more years like King Hezekiah. Refuse anything to end your life, or marriage, or career, or your child! He reigns supreme! He reigns I say! Let His reign be acknowledged in your life as well.

Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Before I conclude the sermon, a new epithet just surfaced on the scene. ‘First and last’. I have oft urged men to inquire of the Lord of their dealings. Before you pursue her or him, before you begin anything, He is the beginning, you must begin both AT Him and with Him. At — because He is not only a person but also a place. WITH — because ‘your beginning’ ought to be defined by Him.

It’s like saying you are building a house; yes we are starting with the foundation, as default; but He must be the foundation, but also, He must be the hardcore, the sand, the cement, the iron bars, the aggregate and the bricks!

So, back to ‘first and last’, yes! He must be your first consultant, and last. If say you begin with Him, and men come and say contrary, you must bring Him to the end and remember what He said at first. I remember King Ahab, inquiring of all prophets whether to pursue a war. They all agreed. Except one. One who told him, ‘If he went to war, he’d die there.’

A lying spirit had been sent out by the very God and it lied all other prophets in the realm! That is why it was prudent for Him to tear the veil in the temple, so that you’d approach Him yourself without any mediators. The mediators today are Jesus and His Spirit. These are God Himself; they won’t bear bias but solely your interest. That’s how far His jealousy for us went. That He’d mediate us by two thirds of Himself!

Take off some time and thank Him for allowing no one else to be your mediator, or beginning or end or first or last except Him. For if it were our parents, the book says there is possibility of even some mothers forgetting their kids. But He made us. He loves us ever so. Even David was nearly forgotten when the prophet came to anoint Him in his father’s house! But He loves you. He loves you. He can’t forget you! And He won’t risk your end or beginning on anything fleeting or sifting!

Praise the Lord! O magnify Him for His LOVE!

So he or she broke up with you! God is the beginning of your JOY and its end. If He can’t end, that means your joy should NOT!

Were you fired? Or given an eviction notice? Take heart! He is your end, and not your former boss or land lord. If He hasn’t said ‘It’s the end’ then it is not. Keep your head above.

Perhaps you lost your parents! He knows! And He said He would not leave you as an orphan. ‘I’ll come to you.’ He said. You now have a parent who can never end. Death doesn’t threaten Him. Neither does age. If He’s your peace, then nothing can claim to be its beginning or its end! Let the tempest blow! Your peace can’t end. He’s a person eternal who can’t end! Ah! This is good news!

Praise the Lord! O magnify Him for He is your first and last! Your Alpha and Omega! Your beginning and end! If He can’t end, you won’t!
