Your Expectation Shan’t Be Cut Off!

Proverbs 23:17-18 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but [be thou] in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. KJV

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. KJV

When I woke up today with these scriptures on mind, God explained further.

He said, “The woman with the issue of the blood had an expectation. She expected that if she only touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, she’d be made whole. Her expectation wasn’t cut off. She obtained her expectation.

The crippled man at the gate Beautiful looked at John and Peter with an expectation. He in the end walked again. His expectation wasn’t cut off!

The Shunammite woman, when she lost her son didn’t believe he had died. She expected he’d rise again and her expectation wasn’t cut off! Elijah as well expected it not to rain for a time, and afterwards, he expected it to rain again. First time he prayed and nothing happened. This went on for six more times and at last his expectation manifested — it rained!

Jacob as well wrestled with God and his expectation was that he wouldn’t let Him go until He blessed his soul. He was blessed indeed. His expectation wasn’t cut off!”

My brother Doug received prophecies of marriage way before he had seen it coming in 2021. Two weeks ago he got married to a lovely Judith! The expectation set in his heart by the prophecies wasn’t cut short. And it is so with us as well. The prophecies in our context are God’s promises:

If He said we are blessed in the city and in the country, then we shouldn’t expect less. The fulfilment of that shan’t be cut off!

If He said we shall lend to many nations and not borrow, then we shouldn’t expect less. We shall indeed lend to many nations.

If He said wealth and riches are in the house of the righteous; that orients us to what to expect. Wealth and riches indeed are in our house! And that won’t be cut off!

If He said kings come to your rising, and you believe it and expect it; your expectation shan’t be cut off! I could go on and on, but the moral is that we shouldn’t stop expecting or hoping. Your expectation might delay yes, but it won’t be denied. Remember Abraham. He was set in motion to expect a child at his old age. It took some time, but eventually . . . eventually, Isaac came.

God wants to give you an expected end. Expect good. Expect increase. Expect houses filled with good things that you didn’t build. Expect wells you didn’t dig, expect vineyards you didn’t plant as He said in His word.

God isn’t a man to lie. He didn’t lie to Abraham, so He won’t lie to you. If He did it for all the above mentioned, nothing will stop Him from doing it for you too!

He is more willing to give it than you are to receive it! I mean … He did not spare His own son but delivered Him up for you!

What can He not give?

And He spices it all up by saying He is able to do exceedingly abundantly (wayyyy) above, all that you can ask or think … or (in this context) expect; according to the power that works in you.

Thus, what is limiting or hindering Him is the size of your expectation! That is another definition of ‘the power working in you.’
