In the Harry Potter cinematic universe, there was a piece of darkest magic called a horcrux. This was an object someone hid part of their soul so that they’d remain immortal when their bodies were destroyed!

In the movie, the main villain & antagonist Voldemort, accidentally made the main character a horcrux of himself, such that part of his soul latched onto Harry, residing in Him from then on, subtly!
The effect of this was thus; a connection was developed between Voldemort and Harry, such that Harry would see what Voldemort was doing, and vice versa.
Harry could then have visions or dreams of where the villain was and his intentions. In case he was to harm Harry’s friends’ parents, he’d warn them on time, since he’d as well hear the thoughts of the villain!
As I rewatched the movie, I had a light bulb moment…
This is the same with God. Only that He already is immortal and so He needs not to latch Himself on us for the purpose of survival, but for greater causes in fact.
This is why prophets have visions. This is why ordinary men suddenly — out of the blue — can lose themselves and have God use their tongue by holy utterance.
Paul posed a question and answered it Himself; who knows the thoughts of a man … except that man’s spirit! (1 Cor 2:11) He therefore concluded, that even for God, no man knows His thoughts, except God’s own spirit!
God was aware of everyone’s thoughts, but no man could claim that they knew God’s. He wanted it two-way — Him knowing ours, and us knowing His. In that way, it’s hard to ‘sin’ against Him.
When Voldemort grew stronger, Harry had access to his mind through the part of him that was in Harry. When God’s Spirit is in us, we too become aware of His feelings and thoughts!
God’s Spirit used to come down on men temporarily in the Old Testament, and then lift. That wasn’t sustainable! For by the time the Spirit re-descended, so many thoughts of God’s would have come, gone, evolved or changed.
This can be equated to one watching the first season of a soap opera so interesting that it takes their breath away completely, but they do not watch it again until season four! So much would have happened, and they’d be having so many questions. By the time they are brought to full speed, more seasons would have been released! This also happens if one skips a few episodes of one season.
God wanted us to know His thoughts. He wanted us to feel after Him! It’d be hard to be children after His own heart if He was apart from us. Through Jeremiah, He said that He alone knows the thoughts He has towards us. Thoughts of peace and prosperity and not of disaster or evil. I think He wanted to rephrase the ‘alone’ part, so that you too can know His thoughts so that when something ill happens, you do not rush to blame Him.
Beyond writing some of His thoughts in His Word, there comes situations in life when we personally need a living thought of His, or to know His judgement concerning a specific matter.
The challenges you are facing are far different from those that people in 33AD were facing. That means God had to ensure that His voice isn’t stuck in the past, but present with you in your trial.
One time, I was going to present in class in front of a lecturer but he was a hard to please. As I arranged for the day, I felt a leading to pick a specific dashiki shirt. I felt good about it. When I went into the classroom, the lecturer was joyful throughout my presentation. It so happened that he’d the exact same shirt, of the same print and color somewhere in his closet — and it was his best shirt. That alone bought me favor in his sight and his face made it clear, that I was one of his best presenters!
There’s nothing in the Bible that directly speaks of ‘how to choose a clothing for a specific day,’ but the leading that I experienced early morning was God’s thought. He knew what the lecturer liked and I had it! So His Spirit cheated for me, and look at how things worked out!
Since God is all knowing, we being his ‘horcrux’, is for our benefit! As His spirit dwells in us, and sees the future, He can lead us to do the right thing, at the right place and at the right time! We then keep reigning in life, keep getting better and better, and end up living out the plans of prosperity He originally laid out for us.
It’s hard for God to enact these if He’s apart from us. If He’s in us, and we are submitted to Him, He’d rather puppeteer us to success at least, or we’ll end up carrying out thoughts we think are of our own origin, yet in essence, they are God’s, resonating by His very Spirit.
I’ve been God’s horcrux for a long time that at this point, I can’t separate my thoughts from His. That’s why I end up writing all these beautiful articles. They are basically God’s thoughts in me. I pray the same for you, that He’ll quiet you down with His love, such that the noises of the world and in you are silenced by the loudness of His thoughts and feelings…
And I pray that when you finally realize God thinking in you, that you don’t shovel those ideas down, for when you do, you are quenching His Spirit! And if you do, I pray you’ll be moved to more maturity to just sense it in you that you’ve grieved Him, and reconcile with Him.
It’s on this basis that we can conclude that we indeed have the mind of Christ! For we know God’s thoughts, since the Spirit that knows them dwells in us too.
Be still. And hear God’s thoughts and feelings in you today. 🙂
amen..
