Mystery of ‘the Head & not Tail’

The other evening, I was giving thanks to the Lord and Deuteronomy 28:13 came to my spirit. It says, ‘And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above ONLY and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.’

I then asked myself what it means to be the head? What does it entail?

Why didn’t God say ‘you shall be the butt and not the head?’ … Reminds me of the notion; use the earthly things to learn the spiritual…

So what is so special about the head? The Holy Spirit schooled me:

A man can live without one hand, or any limbs. A man can live with only one kidney, but once they get decapitated/beheaded, they can not live even if they wanted! Once the head is gone off a body, that life is gone.

It is like a computer losing a central processing unit!

Now let’s explore the head. If someone sits in the head office of a company, they sit in a space where final decisions are made in regards to a specific requirement of that company. They sit in the alpha & omega of that company. If the head office says ‘no’, it shan’t happen. If it says ‘yes’, it shall happen indeed. This is why God has made you a King and a Priest. You being the head positions you to bear the final say in any situation. Lazarus died. Jesus had a different say about that! He was a Head!

The tail of the company (or any mere branch thereof) can’t make the final decision! They always wait on ‘the final office’, or ‘head office’, or ‘the branch manager’s decision’, which represents you! Do you understand your position as the head?

This is like the brain in a body. It’s part of the head, it receives impulses & gives instructions. The brain decrees a thing, and it is established! It tells the blood to run and clot at a fresh wound & the blood responds. It commands the folding of the arms and lifting of legs, and the limbs follow suit. That is you! You command the progress of nations. The Word says ‘righteousness exalts a nation.’ That means, if there’s no you (the righteousness of God—the head) then that nation might not progress continually!

Do you understand the authority you bear?—How like Elijah you can make rain fall … or suspended! How like Elisha you can decree the end of inflation in an entire country! How like Jesus you can command a storm to be at peace! You’re the head and not the tail—the brain and not just the hand. How? The hand can’t move itself without the brain sending instruction through its nervous system. In the same way, the earth seems to receive instructions from these amazing beings called the sons of God. Only those with understanding of this has the earth recognized as its ‘brain.’ And so it obeys when it is told!

Jesus made a brain-move on that fig tree. He declared a final say and it had to obey! It’s equivalent to the brain sending an impulse for a sneeze/hand retraction. The fig tree was only an element in the grand scheme of the earth’s body! It had to obey this brain-in-flesh … this Head of all things—The Christ—in whom you’re hidden. Who has shared this head authority with you!

Think about what could have happened to the world if Joseph did not interpret Pharaoh’s dream. The brain as well interprets impulses or responds to stimuli sent to it by the body’s sensory nerves! After receipt, it suggests the most opportune reaction. This was equivalent to Joseph’s resolve even after interpreting the dream! What use would it have been if Joseph stopped at saying ‘seven years of abundance! seven years of famine!’ ? What use would the brain be if it received an impulse declaring to it that hot oil was pouring on your hand & end there!

If it doesn’t cause the retracting of that arm, then that brain is not performing its full function. We’d as well say it’s dead—for your hand would completely be disfigured by that oil!

You can now clearly see why Joseph could not stop at interpreting the dream, but giving a SOLUTION to the dread that was to come! And the world could not have proceeded without such a man as he. Billions of people were preserved by a one as this. Just like the head on a body is depended on by billions of organs in the body! This is you! Hallelujah!

Abraham was somewhat a head to Lot. When Lot cut him off, things didn’t go smoothly! Unlike Laban to Jacob, Lot didn’t recognize that he was being blessed because of Abraham. He didn’t know he couldn’t ‘live’ apart from Abraham. By ‘live’, I mean … when Lot went into Sodom, he went with many animals and servants. He left the city with only himself and daughters. I thought he was a household more than a hundred? Where did all else go? Where did all that livestock and people that were fighting with Abraham’s shepherds? That was the cause of separation, but where did that all go?

God never spoke to Lot. Lot was rather a man in association with one in deep covenant to God. And Lot benefitted a lot from it. (pun intended)

Lot was like a body part that would want to exist on its own apart from the main body. In that way, the head would not reach it, to give orders, or receive impulses to enable its proper function. If Lot was a liver for example, how would blood have reached it if not for instruction by the brain to the heart to ensure that it did. Without oxygen to the liver through the blood medium, it’d be as good as dead just like us without Christ as our Head.

By our submission to Him, we are made HEADS to our relevant communities, families, nations and the world. In Him we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly places, including that blessing that makes us heads and not tails!

An animal can live without a tail! But it can’t live without a head! If you were that animal’s head, and you got cut off, that would mean the end of life for it!

Now replace the animal with the world …

And Selah (deeply think about it) ...

God has elevated you so high that millions are going to receive sustenance, preservation, instructions to life and godliness from you because of your position as the head.

Stop looking down on yourself!
