Not all gifts come wrapped the way you want!

As I prayed yesterday, and as I meditated about this festive day, the thought of greatness being wrapped in something non appealing came to mind. It made me conclude; Not all gifts come wrapped the way we want them.

Jesus the Savior, didn’t come down with a golden crown. I believe the Lord of Lords could have showed up in a much more dramatic way. But a star? Just a bright star in the sky—I bet many just commented, ‘Ah, what a superfluously shinning thing this star!’

Jesus could have made all animals bow just like He made them enter Noah’s ark, but only a few whose privacy He invaded in the kraal, were lucky enough to be witnesses to his entry. Not all gifts come wrapped the way you want them!

Joseph the governor to be, went as a slave in—to that place! He was second in rank and the stewardship of the entire economy of the world was in His hands. The fate of millions of men was also in the same, but he came as a foreigner, a prisoner, a mere dream interpreter. Careful now Pharaoh. Careful now ye CEO of that company. Not all world-economy-changers come wrapped the way you want them.

Abraham didn’t expect a baby child at that old age…but all good gifts they do, come from the father above. Mary didn’t expect to stay a virgin and yet have a child!
That’s just the way God is, He surpasses all our expectations. Not all children come wrapped the way you want them.

I’m not saying you will have a deformed child—NO! In fact far be it from you in Jesus’ name. What I mean is, like Hannah, some of you, God has suffered your wombs, not just because He is punishing you, but because He is expecting a certain prayer from you to evoke a bigger blessing—a prayer that won’t say ‘can I have a child and show off … or impress so and so… or, so that my husband can delight in me more like Leah (for Rachel’s case)…’ but that you’ll be shifted into a place of divine will prayers that will commit your child into God’s hands, like Samuel, who ended up directing the course & destiny, and commissioning of Israel’s greatest king, through whom Jesus came.

What an honor to steward & usher such greatness!

If Samuel came easy, I believe Hannah wouldn’t have prayed a prayer so deep that would effect Samuel to such a great hierarchy in the Spirit concerning the mountain of government in that time. He’d have been a mere child who grew up to occupy more space on this earth!

Do you understand what I’m trying to say?

Not all gifts come wrapped the way you want them. Jesus the savior, didn’t come down with a BOUGIE crown! May your eyes see the gold in everything, and see the good, that’s hidden in the manger.

Not all gifts come, wrapped the way you want them. That man or woman could be the gate to Your dream. Do not be deceived by what you see. May your eyes see the unseen. May your eyes see the glorious future that doesn’t linger on the surface.

Not all gifts come, wrapped the way you want them! The same Jesus that raised a man that had been dead for four days, couldn’t perform any miracle in his home town, simply because they saw him as a mere carpenter’s boy, and not a miracle manufacturer! And for that, they could have missed out on many of their own miracles!

Not all gifts come wrapped the way you want them! A little minor prayer, from a man dressed in camel’s skin, eating locusts, could bring your son back to life! May your faith cause it! A little washing of Jesus’ feet with your hair could—yes, bring your dead brother back to life—but only when you realise, that not all gifts come wrapped the way you want them.

I pray now, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; and OPENED… to see beyond the bright shinning star, beyond the baby born in a manger, beyond that man or woman or child. That like Simeon and Anna, you will see and KNOW the divine purpose and gift, hidden in any person through whom many destinies and lives shall be impacted and changed, through whom many healings will happen, to whom you’ll get married to…

And lastly, to SEE yourself first beyond the ‘kraal’ you were born into!,

You’re a man or woman sent from God. The greatness that was in Jesus wasn’t choked by the fact that he was born in a place that was filled with the stench of cow poo, or was void of comfy bedsheets & midwives! The greatness that He would turn the course of earth moving forward, and that He’d turn the world upside down still ended up HAPPENING!

Don’t choke the greatness in you because of where you come from or the state you are in today. You’d be a Claude Nikondeha who’ll feed 50000 children daily in a few year’s time! You’re a gift that could have come wrapped in the way you yourself didn’t want! So what if you’re black! So what if you weren’t born in a hospital! Don’t overlook the fact that you were still born! And are still alive!

If YOU can’t see the greatness in you, when others don’t; then I’m afraid no one will! No wonder Jesus had to know this treasure in Him through His Father’s word by 12, so that even if no one affirmed him, he’d affirm himself!

Even if only a few shepherds came on your birthday (and not celebs or men of renown) even if no bright shinning star showed up on your birthday, and there isn’t the littlest sign to fan the greatness in you, if you can’t trace any greatness in you (especially based on your present situations), the world might miss the revolutionary you were meant to be.

Just like the earlier part stressed seeing unseen greatness in others, the latter stresses you seeing greatness in yourself, just like Jesus had to, before he actually manifested any of that greatness on earth.

So, I pray fervently, that may your eyes be opened… in all directions and dimensions like the creatures in front the Throne of God, that cry holy, holy, holy, day and night, night and day!

Merry Christmas 🌲
