Who can sit on God’s Throne?

A local artist in Uganda sang a hit years ago, where He asked, “Ani ayinza otula watuula mukama?” translated to mean “Who can sit where God sits?

In the song verse, He demonstrates God’s position. He says one lady goes to God asking God to help her abort her foetus! As that lady walks out, another lady comes to the throne of grace, asking God to give her womb child.

This is so funny, when it seems like the lady asking for a child has come to God 3 times, and the one who seeks to abort is coming the same number of times!

Who can sit on God’s Throne? Who?

As a lady out there has divorced 3 times, her friend desires so much to marry. The thing one desires, another is trashing! And both line up, to ask God for each of their desires.

Who can sit on God’s Throne? Who?

As one christian prays for a woman out there, another christian dates the same woman. What shall God do? Who will He favor? Who can sit on God’s Throne? To command divine purpose, and the lines for which christian will fall in pleasant places!

Who?

The birds chirp in prayer to Him to feed them. The worms pray He hides them this same day. The antelope prays ‘deliver me from evil this day…’ and a lion somewhere in the same grasslands and pridelands prays, ‘give me this day my daily bread…’ Whose prayer shall God answer?

Who can sit on God’s Throne? Who?

Who can answer the prayer of billions of ants to prevent them from drowning? And who can answer the cry of the ocean when it is sickened by pollution! The ice melts! A billion things need His attention, you inclusive, and the heathens out there walking in sin… Yes He loves them too!

Who can sit on God’s Throne? Who? Who can love the same people who He knows would kill & back stab Him? Who?

Who can go out of their way to do anything even to people who don’t give a damn about him or her! Who can carry and bear and run at the same time? Ah…

My thoughts trouble me deeply, as I raise my hands saying, “Verily, verily, He is God, and God alone. I stand still in awe, knowing that He’ll be exalted in all the earth! No one can dare sit in His throne even for a second! For in that one second, 100 billion creatures need His breath! If He held back His oxygen, even for a microsecond… Armageddon!”

So let’s worship Him. In truth & in Spirit. There’s no one like Him. Righteous Judge! Wonderful Counselor! Jolly King! Majestic ruler! Prodigal lover! No one can sit in His throne!

And yet, He carries us, and makes us sit on His lap, on His Throne, with Him, in Him! 😭

Worthy is the Lord! Of all honor and glory and praise!
