Allow me share a story. You don’t have to believe it, for it’s not yours to believe. My mother told me that when she birthed me today, the media team from UTV (yes, ‘thee’ UTV), arrived at the health centre I was born.
They were interviewing the patients about the services being given by the hospital. They were conducting some sort of survey…and they pulled up to her as she (…well, I can’t remember whether she) was breast feeding, or resting from the pushing… and asked her how she found the care.
After replying, the cameras zoomed onto me (she says). I don’t know if I had been named by that hour, but she says when she returned home, since our fences back then were not gated, all ladies in the neighborhood kept waving at her as she sat at the front porch exclaiming,
” Is that the lovely infant who appeared on national TV! Wow…”
I made news round the town.
Now many of you have noticed me as a media personality through the years. Reading school news while in high school, hosting TV shows, emceeing events, et cetera et cetera. My mom said she wasn’t so shocked when that event happened 24 years ago… And her prayers, and my prayers have led me to a carrying, where I am in sync with one of God’s purposes for me.
He ordained me while I was still in my mother’s womb, a prophet to the nations. And I may not see the full picture now, but I know the media is involved in it. That alone doesn’t leave me with questions about what my purpose is… And that’s when I turn the lights on you.
Maybe you feel you haven’t discovered your purpose. But let purpose find you! Your passions could provide hints. They could be signs leading to the wonder you will be unto men. May you critically acknowledge them and grow them. Be it skills or talents…
I pray as well, that as I have found & grown mine, and continue to discover the higher that is calling, that your spirit will align effortlessly, to what God made you for!
May God’s love, provoke serendipity (finding valuable things that were not previously sought for) to wherever you are. That men or women who will guide you to your destiny find you easily and lead you on. That when they see your light and rising like Jesus’ star, they’ll rejoice—these nations and kings!
And that Simeons and Annas would speak over you, and affirm your purposes! And for parents (or you reading this to understand that one day you’ll be one, or in case you have a child-figure under you) to realize that you do not need to wait for someone else to come be a purpose affirmer for your children, but that you’ll take on the responsibility and be the first prophet to your children;
Calling out the good in them. Noticing the signs of their interests and sharpening them into the greatness they are meant to be, until this below becomes true in your side of the universe;
“Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel (the earth) from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.” (Isaiah 8:18)
