Psalms 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
I came across this portion of scripture and it lit me up. Secondly note; that you are a candle, but firstly, observe who lights you up!
When God lights up things, they never lose their glow. They never lose their shine. The whole world sees them! He lit up the sun, and it’s been going for ages. He lit up the moon, and it’s been beaming for eons.
He lit up the stars, and they’ve been twinkling for millennia! How much more you!
Beyond fanning your embers I see a vast fire rise up. Leave this nonsense of phoenixes rising from the ashes back to life. There’s no ashes for you—neither death—but brighter and brighter and brighter your path!
Now will God light up the sun, and do less for you? No! Will He dress the lilies, and do not as much for you? No! He has lit you up to shine for the world! You can’t be hidden!
When God lights up things, they never lose their glow. They never lose their shine. The whole world sees them! He makes them stand out of the ordinary!
‘He brings them forth…’ (Psa 18:19). The word ‘forth’ means ‘out into view’, ‘out of seclusion or obscurity’. That verse ends ‘… also into a large place. He has delivered me because He delights in me.’
Since God lit you, He’s put you on display, like that discothèque ball spinning with different colors in the centre of the hall. You give life. Favor is on you, but regardless, just like the sun causes drought somewhere, a ferociousness comes with this light too. And your enemies are in for it. Below is the utter description of your fire’s wrath;
Joel 2:3 A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns; The land [is] like the Garden of Eden before them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them.
This is all because He who lit you up is the same;
Psalms 97:3 A fire goes before Him, And burns up His enemies round about.
I cry for your enemies.
Woe unto them!
They’ll regret the day they decided to come against you. They will not flee in seven different directions this time. Because this time, there’ll be nothing left of them.
Hallelujah!
