Shield & Buckler

Psalms 91:4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth [shall be your] shield and buckler.

If Jesus is the answer, what’s the question?

If His truth is a shield and buckler, what’s He protecting you from?

Faith is a shield and bridge between reconciling what God has said He will be, and the actualisation of what He has promised.

Also faith is a shield against the lies, against poverty, against sickness, against all things evil.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God [is] pure; He [is] a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

The ‘He’ herein is not talking about God. NO. It’s talking about HIS WORD. His word is referred to as HE in John.

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Since the main subject at the beginning of the sentence was ‘The Word’, it follows through that the rest of the next verses were adding emphasis to it as the main subject.

That’s where I draw confidence to apply it to Proverbs 30:5, that His word being pure, forms a shield against whatever thing you don’t want coming to you!

Is it evil? His word is a shield (Prov 1:33)

Is it covid? His word is a shield (Psa 91:10)

Is it the anxiety? His word is a shield (Phil 4:6-7)

Is it death? His word is a shield (Prov 3:2)

Is it provision? His word is a shield (Matt 6:26)

The deliverance of the Word is in you believing (having faith about) that thing HE has said about any situation. Your belief of that word mutates Him into a shield, that will shelter you from any danger!

Remember; No faith, No shield!

“Having the word alone isn’t enough. It wasn’t given to you to know. It was given to you to believe!” ~ Pastor Alex Mutagubya

I have come to believe, as well, that God isn’t a one facade shield. He’s a shield that goes all around you. He wouldn’t think it wise to protect you from in front and leave you uncovered in the back.

The example He gave me was Violet Parr, a fictional character who belonged to the Incredibles’ family, whose superpowers were creating shields through which nothing of any means would penetrate.

In this GIF, this drill had just exploded, all else got burnt, but she was able to protect the rest of her family, in all directions!

That’s the kind of shield God’s Word is!

But, remember; No faith, No shield!
