God, My Cup

The Lord is the portion of my inheritance, my cup [He is all I need];You maintain my lot. Psalm 16:5

Earlier this year, I was in a place were so many opportunities located me. I have been transcribing sermon nuggets for my church since 2016 and I realized that this could earn me a lot of income if I did it strategically (Transcribing is turning an audio or video into text)

Well, some people recognized what I could do, and so, they began approaching me. A particular lady approached me in January and asked me to send in a sample of a transcribed doc of what I could do, having stated my quotation.

I took weeks to send in that sample, and just as I was about to send it in, she called me and broke the bad news. “We have already got someone.”

I was broken indeed. I was going to earn about 50,000 for every video I transcribed. I watched it all go down the drain. A few weeks later, a company I have looked forward to work with for years had its CEO’s call me, offering me a job.

On arrival, I was told I couldn’t be hired as they discovered I was a student and they sought someone who was available fulltime. Despite my many attempts, I was never called back again. Two or three other disappointing occasions as such happened.

I took my frustrations to God in prayer. At that point, I was heavily meditating on Psalm 16:5. During prayer, I had a vision. I saw a self-sufficient cup: By this, I mean, it was able to fill itself up from its stem somehow into its bowl.

All these disappointments demonstrated themselves as this cup being toppled. Nevertheless, this cup could then stand back up but be pushed down again. Its water would spill, signifying loss.

Now, the spilled water was opportunity.

God brought it to my attention that HE was my CUP. The devil had caused my water to spill for so long, but the creator of  opportunities was still alive. Do you want to know my cup’s comeback? Do you desire to know His revenge?

Well, God filled himself up. He then made a spring gush force as an erupting volcano, making the cup overflow, spilling all its content allover the ground. Soon, where the water seemed to be swallowed by the ground initially became saturated! Just like after it had rained a lot, water begins to run atop causing soil erosion instead of sinking!

The devil couldn’t even find where to pass to throw the cup off its foundation. Picture a large room with a fountain as a cup. Picture the room having no outlet, and yet it’s flooding real fast.

Even if the enemy tried to throw the cup again, it was pointless since all around was water, and the thing on his mind right now, was to quickly run out before he drowned.

Child of God, there ends my vision, but be encouraged. Many of you have had opportunities snatched from you, but God reminds you in today’s message that though the water spilled, your cup (your source of blessings and opportunities, which is God) can not be spilled or destroyed.

He’s going to turn things around, cause your blessings to overwhelm you and pass on to everyone around you or related to you!

Yes, you’ve lost some opportunities, but don’t look back on them feeling sad. Your cup is exploding as a Dubai fountain! It’s thrusting water allover the city and no one can comprehend how a cup is able to do all that.

Only God can!

After this encouragement, I dusted myself and got my smile back on. As I speak now, more transcribing opportunities located me later in May and they earned me more than 1.4 million.

Remember the first opportunity was only offering 50000/- per week. This next one came and was offering more than 300,000/- per—

See there’s a scripture that says, for every loss, God will restore unto you double! This was even beyond double;

That was my cup erupting.

May God open your eyes to the full understanding of this. You can never say ‘I have lost’ anymore in your life! For even when it seems so, it’s only watering those around you!

God is your cup! He maintains your lot. What this other part means is, there are some things in life that are meant for you, so you don’t have to worry about them.

These could be that dream job, that dream car, that dream house, spouse etc. I have elaborated this in other blogs, but to add emphasis to it … remember the company that didn’t call me because I was studying?

Well…they called me again!

That’s God maintaining my (your) lot & being My Cup!
