Does Your Righteousness Endure?

Many times, we read past such phrases in our bibles without bothering to search out some extra light. Many times, we quote scriptures, yes, when it is all working but the many times when it all seems to be crumbling down, do we still remember those very same scriptures?

You see love endures all things according to 1 Corinthians 13. God is love thus He endures all things too. He endures us when we don’t listen to Him. He endures when He tells us to go right and we stubbornly choose left. But the scripture has said our righteousness endures forever, but our righteousness is of God (2 Cor 5:21) that makes us love, just like God is!

To endure, means to continue to carry on despite obstacles or hardships. If there are no hardships, the word enduring ceases to carry meaning.

In Psalm 112 we see David repeat the statement that the Blessed man’s righteousness endures forever. This may not make sense, but let’s remember the bornagain’s new nature is righteousness.

Basically, in other terms, this means ours is a nature that endures forever. The word was declaring something that follows the new man. This means that if the word states ‘give and it shall return to you…’ and then you give but nothing returns, you won’t stop giving!

If the word says ‘bring all your tithes unto my storehouse…and see if I will not open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing’ and then you tithe, but nothing like windows open up, what the bible means by your righteousness enduring, is that; you will not stop tithing!

If you have stopped along the way, that means you are not walking in your nature. Yes, even if you have a debt and the first cash that comes in is able to clear all of it, and you still tithe, that is your righteousness enduring right there!

If a sickness has hit you many times, and you haven’t given up laying hands on yourself, or declaring that by Jesus’ stripes you were healed, then your righteousness is enduring indeed!

Sam Agaba is a dear friend of mine. He happened to have a pain crisis last Saturday. This is when sickle cells clog up in chains and form clots in the blood vessels. That interrupts the movement of oxygen in certain parts of the body.

“Now just like someone faints due to insufficient supply of oxygen, these body parts try to send signals to the brain through pain episodes trying to tell it to send help. In the end it alerts Sam’s consciousness as last resort, causing him to wail and groan painfully. That’s how doctor’s then react with medication initially helter-skelter manner!”

That’s what my cousin who is pursuing his bachelor’s in medicine elucidated to me.

Now I have seen Sam recover, but I have never seen him in so much agony that caused him to writhe and wriggle. Tears drenched his eyes, sweat came out from everywhere and I didn’t know what to do.

I could crack jokes with him, laugh with him, but I couldn’t stay put when he rushed to throw up. I have just never seen him like this God. . .So, I was rather in extreme shock!

His rib cage was hurting so bad, just as his neck. Bones, bones… remember, they are the ones that manufacture blood, but they too could cause the pain as though screaming S.O.S.

For a couple of years, Sam has been hospitalized. He told me that his testimony was, ever since he began taking holy communion while on the bed, he moved from being hospitalized for a period of 3 weeks to 3 days. WOW!

Now amidst the pain-starts, he called me breathing difficulty and said

‘Bring bread, and buy ribena along the way!’

Amidst his morphine intakes and pain killer injections, he also wrote a dosage of holy communion. (1×3) We had laid hands and read the word when I had just arrived. We declared the godly health over him and took holy communion.

The situation exacerbated minutes later. He screamed in agony. I prayed in tongues, while I soothed his legs, but he kept yelling,

‘BIGGIE, PASS ME MY HOLY COMMUNION!’

That preached to me! Sam is the man blessed; whose righteousness endures forever. See how in all dire pain, he still remembered the body that was striped for his complete healing and the blood that was shed for the remission of his sins.

Why wouldn’t such a man be talked about among the brethren. He is living the word! He is enduring! And the enemy can fight hard, but he can’t fight LONG!

Sam already overcame. The devil just can’t believe he lost to him already. He has been put to the test. He’s gone through the fire, but audaciousness, resilience and determination to OBEY God’s word as He said ‘Do this in memory of me..’ is what comes out of Sam.

But that’s Sam. How about you? Is you enduring (Read that again in a black American’s accent)

We can’t live like hard times won’t come. The Good news is; the bible has assured us that our righteousness will endure.

Had you given up on that child? Speak to that womb again. Speak to that business again. Tithe again. Give again (however broke you think you might be) Part of being part of an army is, you have to have passed through tough training!

Notice that every soldier who endures receives a medal of honor, a prize and then a promotion to higher ranks. Hang in there as you remember that per every endurance, you are getting elevated in spiritual ranks and if spiritual ranks, then your physical ranks too exponentiate!

Endure soldier, you’ll come out purer than gold!
