Whom Was the Word Persecuted For?

Do you know how many stories are behind the printing of the word? The scrolls of old, the rewriting of them by other scribes, the lives the holy men had to live, the things they had to go through so that they’d see the hand of God and then write it down!

Do you know the days they fasted? The food they denied themselves in order to be aligned with God’s frequency? Do you know the miles they walked, in worn out shoes? The nights they spent in prisons? The voyages they made to bring about Christ?

Do you know how many were killed as they ran to hide the parchments with God’s word for you? Do you know how many were slaughtered, burnt, stabbed, stoned, to either convey or be a subject in the word that you take for granted?

The very word of God is spirit, yes, but as it existed in the first dyes used as ink, it laid low. It hid in robes and in turbans. It got wet and got trampled on. It survived. Its carriers didn’t! It took refuge in caves and basements. Many were hung on sharp poles for harbouring it but it still ran and saw the next morning!

Year after year, that Word of God looked out for you. Is it 1978 yet? Is it 1985 yet? Is it 1992 yet? Time replied sadly, ‘No, it’s still 918 AD. You still have about a thousand more years to go!’

The word in scrolls then braced itself, tightened the laces on the soles of its feet and continued being faithful to preserve itself for all those years until the year you were born. Then it smiled saying ‘Oh the long awaited one!’

The persecution of the word was real. The word, for your sake had to keep evolving. From animal skin to parchment to paper to printing to multiplying to hardcover and now to an electronic app on your phone so that you’d access it and it’d in return reveal the real you and not what the world has said you are!

Will you take it a bit much more seriously today?

It went through hell for you, bearing thousands of scars from different generations, going as far back as the time when dear Israel was captive in Egypt!

Psalms 117:2 For His mercy and loving-kindness are great toward us, and the truth of the Lord (which is His word) and faithfulness endure forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Bold brackets added by me!

It went through hell for you! Will you take it a bit much more seriously today?
