Lying Vanities!

A vanity is something that is futile. The word futile means ‘incapable of producing results!’

Today; in our world, we have lying vanities. By lying, it means this thing that can’t produce results will lie you that it can produce results!

When God created man, there are results He put in place for man to bring forth. He told man to subdue, multiply, fill the earth and have dominion over it!

Vanities come about when man gives in unto his own wisdom. Between the book of Malachi and Matthew, it’s recorded to have been about 400 years.

In this period we see men like Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Alexander the Great…etc. These were great philosophers. The definition of philosophy is the love of wisdom. But what’s the love of wisdom if the author of it is not in the picture!

Their wisdom went on ahead to set the highest standard of wisdom; the zenith of it.. Sadly, this was carnal wisdom and not Messianic or God-wisdom. Soon, God was an ‘idea’. No wonder for all those 4 centuries, nothing like a book was written by a prophet and yet they existed.

The exalted education of the philosophers drowned out the desire for men to learn from the holy scrolls and written scripts by men of God, as the rumors of their knowledge spread throughout Ancient Europe, Babylon, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor and North Africa, which were basically the largest kingdoms then. This period is oft termed as ‘The Period God went silent.‘

If we critically judge the cause of God’s silence, its cause was the reliance on men’s own understanding. No wonder God asks us to trust him and lean not on our own understanding in Proverbs 3:5.

Today, men have continued to mould things God considers evil and unholy and labeled them ‘Okay.’ Men have twisted what grieves God and labeled it ‘Sport.’

If you doubt look at sports like Wrestling. 😤 So men fight and bleed and break bones and strike themselves with sledge hammers and we call that okay????! Yes even fellow Christians reply ignorantly, ‘It’s just a sport!’

Young kids watch within the arena, cheering. Teenagers back at home are beholding this insanity and you expect them to obey when they see the ad saying ‘Do not try this at home!’ at its end. Bwahahaha!

Games like Boxing; frankly, I don’t see any holiness. And I’m sure someone will tell me ‘But we see wars in the Bible. God’s people went to stage them.’ For your information, we moved on. The wars today are not carnal but are spiritual! They are not seen, but unseen. And besides yes war was war but not just sport for fun! Today all sport is viewed from the dimension of fun. If it ain’t fun, it’s not sport!

Your true enemy is not another man, it’s the devil and his minions! Let that sink!

What we watch; its sight is saddening. Sex scenes act as commercial breaks in many films today! The hard thing about this is you are never warned when you bought that film.

You place it in the home DVD player, or you download a movie and then boom! There it is! Live sex between two unmarried humans. Then the youth out there go on to think, it’s quite alright to have intercourse before marriage!

Vanity, I say!

See what human knowledge can do. And with helps of wide media it goes all around the world. As you are at work, you don’t know what your children are watching back at home. All I can encourage you with is to ‘teach them & train them in the way they should go, so that when they grow they do not depart from it’ (Prov 22:6)

Or, you should know that God is capable of teaching them Himself. (Isaiah 54:13) Surrender them into Him. No way will they fall unto the snares of this world of vanities!

When it comes to sicknesses and disease, ha! We’ve baptized them with sweet names. We call many even disorders and create ‘awareness’ about them elucidating that they are normal, that they need to be known by parents of the victims. How about God’s word concerning sicknesses? Shouldn’t it be given the same attention!

Apostle Grace Lubega says as long as it has ‘disorder’ at the end of it, that makes it a demonic oppression. CAST IT OUT!

We have settled for less indeed. How about your authority as a child of God? Shouldn’t it be given the same attention! That you can lay hands on the sick and they get well!

Pastor Moses Mukisa stated that, the same faith one uses to ask for rent from God, is still the same faith another uses to ask God for 1000 acres of land! The same faith you use to heal a headache, is the same faith you still need to heal a cancer! It’s just different names (which are both sicknesses) but the same healing medicine—Your Faith!

Samuel Agaba, a great friend of mine, has progressively recovered from sickle cells. Once upon a time, as narrated to me, he was getting so actively involved in a sickle cell awareness movement!

He then heard God whisper to Him saying; (and I paraphrase) ‘What a big difference it’d make, if you participated more in the by-His-stripes-you-were-healed awareness!’

He’d come to take the sicklar-ism as his new normal! Since the repentance that day, plus holy communion and active confession of scriptures concerning his health and wellness, Sam’s health has skyrocketed out of this earth. The devil no longer has anything on him!

Lying Vanities begin, when we are ignorant about God’s mind about something.

When we return to the definition of futile, as we’d began, you come to realise that, you can not bring about the results God created you to manifest if you are succumbent to what this world has laid down as truth!

God meant for you to REIGN in life! And He’s still waiting for you to walk in that sovereignty. He wants you well; He already paid the price for it! He wants you rich; He already took on your poverty! He wants you at peace; your battles He fights!

Jonah 2:8 KJV says, They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

That means, they frustrate the grace of God, thereby short-circuiting the power of God from working in and on their behalf! Think about it, when someone for example says ‘this disorder is normal’, God’s power is suffocated and can’t do anything about that disorder unless there’s a change in mind by the victim that all things are possible!

What lying vanity have you observed? Is it that once you are beyond 35 or 40 then it’s too late for marriage? Is it that to be called cool you have to have broken your virginity even before marriage? Is it that God can’t forgive you in case you have done so? Is it that in times of need you have to stop giving or tithing?

More examples of lying vanities include phrases like; Sex brings fulfilment, Grace allows me to do whatever I want, I’m too old, I’m too young, It’s too late, I can’t live without so and so, It’s just a movie, I can’t pray, In our family we are broke, Generational curses, The spirit of rejection is on me… Etc.

Drop whatever mindset you’ve come up with! Do not conform to the standards of this world! Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind by reading what God has said, that you may prove that which is HIS good and acceptable and perfect will FOR YOU, so that you might not fall victim!

Get back into His word.

Take God by and at His word.

He’s not just any man that He should lie to you!
