The Mystery Of The Shadow

Psalms 91:1 HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide (remain stable and fixed) under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

Many; I included, have been missing a revelation concerning this scripture. Why? We don’t visualize The Word of God. We read it with our mouth and not with our mind.

Well, the Holy Spirit ambushed me the other day. It was so hot! Very hot, in our 3 acre garden. I couldn’t bear it. I ran into a large cool shadow. Life returned! I sighed as I loved it there… And then I heard The Holy Spirit say, “God is the tree!”

Please note that the tree you see in the image above isn’t the tree under which I sought refuge, the other was 20 times larger. That one is simply helping your mind visualize a shadow. Meanwhile there was a chicken having lunch in that tree’s shadow, but you can’t see it vividly.

I asked the Holy Spirit what He had meant. This is what He said,

“You see, when you dwell in the secret place of God, you’ll abide (stay fixed and immoveable from His shadow by default!)”

I nodded…

“…Tell me then child, of you and the tree which one is getting scorched by the fierce heat of the sun?”

Before I answered, He proceeded.

“When it rains hailstorms and thunders, of the ant upside down a tree branch and the canopy of the tree, which will feel the impact of the fall?”

I had barely unglued my lips when He went on…

“Of a slave resting at the foot of pylons in Egypt or an embalmed Pharaoh in a sarcophagus within a pyramid, who’ll taste the excruciating sand storms from the winds? Of a high stone wall, and the horse grazing in its shadow, which will be more exposed to the arrows flying in from the enemy’s arsenal?”

The answers were all obvious. I guess He telepathically read them off my mind, causing Him to say furthermore,

“…So it is with God! When pain comes to you, He feels the most impact. Meanwhile, you might only taste a drop of that pain! Why? You’re in His shadow! When the wind blew some of your few belongings, it hurt, but remember you’d been in His shadow. He was your wind brake! He felt the full impact of the piercings of the flying sand. What you felt was just a trickle of the dispelt wind.”

“When Men in Black have finally found you, and they pull out their guns to shoot you, none of their bullets smell your skin! Why? God jumped in from nowhere and became your proof vest, grasping any bullet that might have escaped Him on its way to you! ”

“The heat? He looked away as it roasted His skin. None of it, fried you! Why? You were in His shadow! When the arrows of war were shot, they got stuck in His branches and leaves… None fell through to scathe you! Why? You were in His shadow!”

“Whatever you feel, know that He already took on the burden of it! The hurt you are feeling now… it’s nothing! He bore & retained 99.99999% of the rest of it! What you feel is as small as a grain! He’s your shield & buckler! When disease escaped and tried to stab you like a dagger, He threw Himself between you and it! It was as if a missile that had 5 miles left to reach you!”

“He might guarantee your safety, but He doesn’t guarantee your dwelling in the secret place. That’s up to you. Dwell there, and He will be your refuge & fortress. Dwell there and He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence (disease).”

“Dwell there and He shall cover thee with his feathers, his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Dwell there and thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Dwell there and you’ll fear no pestilence that walks in darkness; nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”

“Dwell there and even though a thousand might fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; it shall not come near thee. Dwell there and no evil shall befall thee, nor shall any plague come near thy dwelling, as I already mentioned, how He does it.

“Dwell there and He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Dwell there and you shalt tread upon the lion and adder. The young lion and the dragon shall you trample under your feet.”

“Dwell there, set his love upon Him, and He will deliver you: Dwell there and He will set you on high! Dwell there and He shall answer you when you call upon Him. Dwell there and He will be with you in trouble; Dwell there and He will deliver you, and honour you.”

“Dwell HERE and With long life, He will satisfy you, and show you His salvation.”

(Psalm 91:2-16)

  1. God has just reminded me about how He’s all powerful He doesn’t feel the pain of the heat because He’s mighty. But He chose to take human form as Jesus and bore the weight and all the pain so that we don’t say He doesn’t know how it feels. He knows our pain and bears it while we dwell in his shadow🤯🤯
