Not to the Swift

“I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong, neither is bread to the wise nor riches to men of intelligence and understanding nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. Ecclesiastes 9:11

Let’s focus on the first few sentences “the race isn’t to the swift!” Recently I’d been meditating on how my dreams seemed to be taking long to pass, how I felt God was dosing off during His watch and how my further studies seem to be delayed.

In those few days, I really felt Ecc 9:11 returning to my eyes. I kept hearing someone quote it, or read it or post it on his or her WhatsApp status. I immediately knew God was trying to send me a signal. I read the verse and kept it in my heart.

Then I listened to a sermon where by Apostle Grace reminded us of Philip in the book of Acts. How he was transported by The Spirit from one place to another with thousands of miles apart. He was challenging us to believe a little bit more…for such things could still be possible in our times.

But God made me listen for a different reason. He combined both the Philips scenario and Ecc 9:11. I had a vision of me during a race. The gun shot and the people ran. I was stuck. I could not go. I cried to God “I’m losing, why can’t I move?” He answered not.

The men ran, ran and ran. They were remaining with about 5 metres to win the race and then suddenly I felt a strong pull. I vanished and appeared again beyond the finish line (Philip scenario) and I looked back. The ribbon had been rent! I HAD WON!

I had been quickened by the Spirit and didn’t lose anything!

This is to you if you feel like, your losing time, if you feel like others are running fast and you are not moving. God is going to quicken you and place you beyond the finish line.

It will even be so hard for you to believe how fast He’s going to make you move. The race is not for the swift or those you feel like are ahead of you! You have God with you! And He’s going to quicken you.

Be still and know He is God!
