The Spiritual Unconscious

Last Monday, God led me to buy this book. He had been convicting me to do so for so long. I found myself near the Andrew Wommack bookstore after a long time. I had promised Sham to buy her the Power of Imagination by the same author, and here I was in the vicinity of where I’d get it.

I went in and got all books!

Three days later, I attend a Phaneroo service and the sermon title is ‘DO NOT LIMIT GOD.’ It was impactful, endowed with impartation and instruction.

At the sermon’s peak, the preacher mentioned how unvivid it was of Joseph to save food to feed the entire world, for seven years — and yet when he interpreted the dream, he thought the famine would only hit Egypt.

The Lord mentioned to me that there is the Spiritual Unconscious. This faculty knows all things, and yet is repressed by the human conscious. Psychoanalysts mention the unconscious to be the place where dreams happen. The unconscious mind is the part of psyche that is not available to introspection.

In the same way, I believe Joseph kept on saving more grain even when his advisors kept telling him “This is enough to feed Egypt even for fourteen years!” Something within kept telling him to keep storing! To keep building more archaic depositories and caches.

Something he would not describe kept ordering his steps — informing his decisions. And it is years later that they realize his convictions were right. His anointing did not only save Egypt. The Bible says all countries came to him for grain. ALL! Imagine how much food a country needed, for its people and animals?! For seven years! Or six (considering they too had saved something but had replenished it in the first year)

That is tonnes and tonnes of food, acres and acres of storehouses! That was the wisdom of the spiritual unconscious at work in Joseph. The mandate was not only to save Egypt, but the whole world! That’s heavy! No wonder in prophecy we may see in part.

That same awareness held my reins and drove me to that bookshop without my intended sober consciousness being so active. I was meant to see a cousin that Sunday, but she decided I see the Monday following at a hospital she works at, which was near the bookshop.

Now the urgency of God needing me to read the book may not be a concern of yours, but the fact that He ensured the message is stamped twice in one week could have heavy gravity on my end.

But beyond that point, I want you to know that this unconscious is at work not only in a prophet’s mind, but in every mind of His child — in every mind of His sheep. You will hear His voice, even when you are not necessarily hearing His voice!

This story shows it could have been an echo; a signal that escaped translation into audible audio, but somehow ensured I obeyed or turned North without falling off East or West.

It is not the first time this is happening to me, and I’m sure if you have been walking with the Lord for a while, it has happened to you too. You’d have been listening to a song all week, only for it to be sang as the main theme anthem during the church service the following Sunday. It’d be a verse that came to you earlier in the week, on your bed, or in the bathroom. You were not looking for it. It just hit you as you were still.

It’d be someone coming to your mind when you had not been thinking of them.

With time, you get to harness and learn how to react even when God is saying something without opening His mouth. It is like He is using telepathy. For in so doing, you will understand His ways.

And sometimes, you will have no hint, but later, when you realize what He was doing (when you were unconscious), it is a mere confirmation that you and Him are one, and that you are never alone! That is called being put to sleep like Adam; it will show that you are indeed dead and yielded for Him to use whenever.

That is called walking with Him, like Enoch did. That is called two people walking together, for they are agreed. This is not the wisemen being warned in a dream by an angel not to return to Herod. This is Abraham leaving Ur, after God telling him to leave — without proper direction or address or pin location, and yet … He still ends up exactly where God wanted him to go!

Genesis‬ ‭41‬:‭57‬ So all countries came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all lands.

Psalm 16:7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: My reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
