Feast of Graduations!

I remember the Jewish culture of setting up feasts for various items being memoirs of thanksgiving or rejoicing for that particular thing.

I have found 12th December an important date for me since 2020. I graduated from a leadership course that Saturday. In 2021, I graduated from School of Ministry that Sunday. In 2024, I was shocked to see myself graduate from Architecture, School of Built Environment that Thursday!

So I set up some sort of altar of thanksgiving for that day, to remind me of the feast of graduations!

By this time last year, my earnest prayer had been to land a good job! Even just to land a job at that! Many never practice what they studied, and my parents were worried that I’d freelance in art.

Weeks before the graduation day, I was called to write on invitation cards. The mother to the groom interrogated what I did for a living. I expressed that I was finalizing with my Bachelors degree in Architecture.

“That’s wonderful! Our daughter is an architect too! Maybe you’d work together after school!” She said excitedly.

And that was it! No interviews! No applications! I met the announced lady days later, exchanged numbers and as I speak now, I’ve been working under her team for more than six months!

Though we never touched base immediately with the job, the anxieties of unemployment had risen through my mind’s roof. Relatives reminded of how so many graduate and they sit without jobs. The realities were against what I believed.

And I recall God giving me His word; That I’d expand to the right and to the left. That I’d not be put to shame! That He didn’t light me up, — or educate me at that to put me under a bushel. None of the promises He said to me failed. All would come (and came) to pass.

By Christmas last year, some colleagues had already landed jobs. The pressure was drowning me. O but God was faithful.

This is to encourage that fresh graduate; the maker of eyes sees! The maker of ears hears! He will not lie to you! He will not disappoint you! He already went ahead of you, filling all the valleys and leveling all the mountains!

He provided for the job before you finished school! He provided the market before He gave you the products’ idea. Put on your dancing shoes and rejoice in advance! It’s already done!
