Generational Hate

It just occurred to me yesterday morning, that one is capable of being a victim of generational hate! Let me explain: The Bible says the Israelites and their generations for 400 years, were favored because of one man — Joseph.

Even God confesses that He pitied Israel many times because of one man; David.

I had seen someone earlier, who’s related to someone who did something heartbreaking to me. Suddenly, the resentment I had for my antagonist cloaked this one. This one wasn’t involved in any way; but she seemed to be taking part in the communion of someone else’s actions.

That is when God caught me.

He didn’t bash me about it, but we had that kind of conversation.

My realization was; that one can be driven to hate anyone related to someone who did something bad. They can hate the children of that one, or even their grand children — the same way someone can love the children and grand children of someone who helped them greatly.

Thus, forgiveness is crucial.

But also, living a careful life … Not that you will be too careful, but care to ensure that you do not leave anyone in a position that can make them cringe at your parent, or brother, or spouse or child … because of what you did to them.

You may not have to please everyone! But if you find out that you wronged someone … whether intentionally or not, amend the relationship. Unearth the potential seeds of grudges and generational hate. At least, ensure that you are not the cause of it.

Aspects like jealousy and envy rather be!
