Give the Oil Time

I oiled the hinges of the door to my room. They used to make a queer sound whenever the door swung. After a few minutes, I was mad that the door still made that noise. It was irritating especially in the middle of the night when I sneaked out to pray.

I moved on with life; and to my surprise, after a day or two, I realized the door didn’t creek. I was surprised. No sound was made from the hinges.

That is when God said, ‘Give the oil time…’

When potato chips are going to be fried, the oil needs time to get ready. If you noticed, David was oiled at about 17 or 18 to be king. But he did not immediately ascend the throne for another 12 or so years. And yet the oil’s end was the throne!

If I am to use the chips’ example, it is like this oil needs to encounter the fire of the Spirit to set it ablaze; to boil and burn what needs to be — the parts that need to go to allow for the better version of you! The consecration needed.

It should be no wonder that the tongues upon the apostles on pentecost weren’t of air or water or anything else — but FIRE!

And so, we must embrace patience. Perhaps your oil needs a longer time to boil! So don’t compare yourself to another who has ascended their throne. And I can’t explain deeply why the oil needs time … but you must know that it needs …

Maybe it needs you to grow in wisdom and stature. Maybe it is waiting for your character to attain a specific form. Maybe it needs you to first go to the wilderness and return …

But in all of this, like the hinges of my door, its effect will eventually be evident! Your cups will overflow to begin with …

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  1. something on God can’t announce us when we are not ready, indeed Give the oil time. Reminds me of when I was told God will reveal to me things not known to me, and I am just seeing results now.

    GIVE THE OIL TIME🙌🙌✅✅
