The God that Warns 2

In part one, I gave examples of God warning Joseph to flee from Egypt, for baby Jesus was in danger. We see God warn the wise men not to return by the same way. And so much more. Though God warned outwardly, I really love the fact that He warns us of ourselves as well. He warns us inwardly moreover.

I remember when He told Simon Peter that Satan had sought to sift him. And that He was praying for him; that his faith fails not.

Peter was so confident of himself and his love for the savior that he thought he’d never be on the other side of the coin or books in regard to his relationship with Jesus.

What’s amazing is that Jesus was already aware and praying for Simon about something that had not happened yet. And when it did happen, I don’t know how Simon felt: That moment when he denied the Lord!

God warns us — yes, of the future, and our character as well, our inward self that needs working on. In my view, I think this means that Jesus, by the Spirit, will warn us of that anger, that subtle procrastination, that late coming, that dishonesty, that unforgiveness … and other vices that do not represent Him.

And in case we don’t heed to the warning, we will realize what the Lord saw as consequence, and it will cause us to repent; and continue doing so, until we become bride parts without spots — without flaws, which He’ll present to Himself, and to the Father.

I pray we are bendable to His admonishings, taking them all with grace and without bias. Knowing that each is making us better versions of ourselves. Until we can confidently say we are His ambassadors — little Christs as C.S Lewis put it; it being true in every word, that those around us can concur that we indeed really are Christ walking this earth.
