Let …

“We are Matthew five fourteens. But we can only be if we kept the instruction of verse 16; which says ‘let’ — not fight! ‘Let’ — not reignite what has already been kindled — the light is already there, you just have to bring forth.”

I came across a video of my little sister in the Lord via tiktok (anita2inspire) with her saying these awesome words.

For some reason I have camped there for days. The scripture says ‘let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.’

What was emphasized to me was ‘LET.’

I always encourage people around me to work on each talent they have or invest in any passion that can’t get off their minds. I do my best to make each thing I love shine. Whatever light is to you; LET! For the result will be men glorifying God — eventually!

If you never let, how will they glorify Him? Some of us have focused so much on the careers we got as a result of school, but we keep suppressing the ideas that incessantly bang in the walls of our minds and echo in the halls of our imagination. We are not letting… And that could be your breakthrough: the answer to your prayers!

Recently, I have been down because of my architectural pursuit. Since the bachelors, events have been happening that made me look like a fool or clown in architecture school. Even the devil whispered that I could not cut it. And that’s when God said ‘let’!

There are some members of the same field who when you come around, do not ignite that passion, but just make you hate it the more — making you look like you know nothing; and so I almost dimmed that light out! But God Himself said no man lights a candle and puts it under a bushel.

Living sacrifices we are! So maybe living candles we are too. If we can’t put out the light, then maybe we can hide it — shut about it… Under a bushel. Under a bed; behind forgotten shoes and trash.

But like Adam went hiding, with Eve behind green weavings, God came to me and asked… He didn’t ask who told me I was naked… He asked why I was fighting my light!

We are cities on hills, we can’t be hidden! But what if we are hidden — or hide ourselves, from those that really need that light. I may be fighting the fight of faith — Herod out here killing every new born baby ‘cause of insecurity; having heard there is a light that will threaten him.

But the God who made and began the good light will see to the accomplishment of its work. When Daniel’s light was forced into a den of lions, the lions were blinded!

For now, the person I know needs my light is God! I know I am a big deal in the architectural universe even if I don’t see it yet. Pharaoh killing every Hebrew born must indicate something.

So I will come out the bushel and bed; and let my light shine on; if not for everyone, for God at least — who knows why He made it!

In due time, He will make it beautiful. He will make known its purpose. For me and for you! But for now, we just need to let …

To let it shine!

You must even know that what is forcing you to dim your light is not Pharaoh or Herod or the princes and presidents. It’s beyond human opposition! But you must not be ignorant of his devices. God’s arch nemesis is your arch nemesis as well…

But what is so good about light itself, is that I’ve seen it blinded on two occasions; when the Assyrians attacked Elisha, and even Saul before he became Paul.

If you fight your light, it is the very weapon that will blind the enemy! You mustn’t dim it! Rather, LET IT BURN!
