How To Profit

Isaiah 48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. (KJV‬‬)

God confesses to be the one who teaches us to profit! His Holy Spirit in John 14 is described to bear this character.

What stood out for me this time were the words after the comma: ‘which leads you by the way that you should go.’ The whole text seems to be explaining what makes you profit and how!

When we are taught by God the way to go, we profit! Profiting isn’t only money-wise. It is beyond that! It can be measured by light (or revelation). It can be measured by knowledge. It can be measured by honor, blessings, glory, power, wisdom, strength, and so much more.

Esther obeyed the voice of Hegai — She heed to what he taught, and that is how she found favor in the sight of everyone! She became the Queen! If Jonah did not turn from his stubbornness to go the way God showed him, a whole nation would have been judged. Instead, they all repented, and God spared them!

Having toiled all night, Jesus told Peter where to cast his nets again! He obeyed! And he brought in so much fish — his and his companions’ nets almost tore bringing in the harvest! And their ships almost sank due to a great profit!

What is God asking you to do this morning? What did He ask you to do in your dreams? When you go the way He suggests, when you accept Him to direct your steps, you will profit! And the primary trick is not only to wait for Him to physically speak to you! You might as well start with the instructions He’s given in the book.

If you love Him, you will keep His commands. They are more for our good than His. Tithing won’t profit Him. It will profit you. Forgiving won’t heal His heart. It will ease yours. Giving will not multiply God; it will multiply you. Praying will not move God. It will position you to receive revelation or divert any dangers that were predestined your way! If you love Him, and want to profit, keep (obey) His commands.
