Spending Time with Time

Yesterday I was feeling like I needed to have a quick time with God so that I can go on to do school work, or work in general. I wanted to give him a quarter of an hour as I have almost been doing for the past weeks, specifically in the area of His Word.

He then enlightened me, saying, “I exist outside time, and by me, time was made. We can as well say; time has always been a part of me. I am time! So when you spend time with me, you are spending time with time. Lewis said, ‘when you argue against God, you are arguing with the very entity that gave you the ability to argue.’ In the same manner, when you spend time with God, you are spending time with the power that enables you to have more time…”

I told myself, ‘how then can I give only droplets and trickles to the matter that adds me time! It must be of good worth and investment to surely dwell with God indeed.’

Let’s not be deceived that we have better things to do. He’s the BEST thing to do with! He’s above ‘better’, and above Him, there isn’t — or shouldn’t be — something better for us to spend time with, or … If we do have something above Him, then it must be an idol: a god, with which He said there shouldn’t be any other except Him.

Ahhh, I must draw away quickly to Him now. There’s no way I will lose any more time as long as I walk this earth; if I prioritize Him as a time machine. Not the kind that takes me back to the past or the future; but the time machine that avails all time — past & present — to me now; and also, ensures that I get over-TIME where I surely need, just like Joshua did, when he needed more time to win that war. This covenant made the sun and moon — the objects that had been commanded to RULE day and night — to stop day and night from transitioning, all in favor of a young man who knew the maker of time.

Ahhh, I must draw away quickly to Him now. There’s no way I will lose any more time as long as I walk this earth, if I prioritize Him as a time machine. When you spend time with God, you are spending time with the power that enables you to have more time.

And remember, Jesus is the resurrection and the life! When we spend time with Him, we are spending time with LIFE and the entity that enables us to have it! Surely He’s worth much more than a quarter an hour!

Song of Solomon 2:10 My lover said to me, “Rise up, my darling! Come away with me, my fair one!
