Let not your lamp go out!

Proverbs 31:18b; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night [of trouble, privation, or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt, and distrust]. AMP

Proverbs 31 is popularly known for the ideal christian woman. As I read this portion on August 2nd last year, God reminded me that I’m the bride of Christ. That in fact, I should look at it as THE PROVERBS 31 BRIDE…

It is mentioned of the woman, that her lamp doesn’t go out but burns on continually. God reminded me in that hour that His word is a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path! (Psalm 119:105)

His word is a lamp … a lamp! Thus, it’s this word that shouldn’t go out.

When the night of failure in business comes, you must say, “I am the head and not the tail, I am above only and not beneath. All that I do prospers.” When the night of lack comes, you must say, “I’ve been young and now old, but I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken nor their children beg bread. The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”

When the night of economic deprivation comes, you must say, “I lend to nations and not borrow! He’s supplied all my need (all of it) according to His riches in glory in Christ. Where there’s a casting down, you’ll say there’s a lifting UP!” When the sickness comes, you must say, “None from Zion shall say ‘I am sick’, for God has forgiven their iniquity. He was wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was upon him, by whose stripes I was healed…”

That’s how your lamp will not go out! Speaking His word will be that fuel that will keep lit your world. If you keep silent, your lamp will dim out, and the darkness will cover your glory. Worry will try to consume you. You’ll stumble over stones and rocks and hurt yourself. But Psalm 119:105 hasn’t said His word is only a lamp! What use is a lamp if its light is out. No wonder the second part was added intentionally by God: a light to your path.

If you can see where you’re going — even in darkness, there will be no fear. Your steps will still be sure.

So are you going through the valley of the shadow of death? Are you experiencing some sort of night? Remember His word! Recite it! Even that darkness shall appear as the noon day, which is the case for God!

Go light up your world!
