You can get so lost in God that you forget you have to get married
You can get so lost in God that you forget you have to have children
You can get so lost in God that you forget you have an earthly identity
You can get so lost in God that you forget you have your own agenda
You can get so lost in God that you forget time as a measurement
You can get so lost in God that you forget your own past — owning His
You can get so lost in God that you forget your pain
You can get so lost in God that you forget you have to plan your future. It’s like sleeping yet awake. Dreaming and never waking up — yet alive
You can get so lost in God that you forget yourself altogether…
Until all people see is no longer you, but God!
When you lose yourself, it’s God who’ll tap you awake, from a deep slumber — like that He set Adam & Abraham into. Reminding you of what you have to attend to.
If it were possible, He’d keep you in deep slumber. But if you’ve realized, every time deep slumber befell anyone, when they awoke, something had been added to them. Adam awoke and Eve — a wife — had been added to him. When Abraham awoke, God had made a covenant with Him. Paul lost His sight (depictive of the slumber) and when it returned, He was no longer a persecutor of Christians, but a preacher of the gospel. Jesus awoke, and He had been raised to sit above all principalities and powers and dominions, in custody of the keys of life.
They didn’t lose themselves in essence. It’s God who lost them to themselves but when they awoke — they were different people.
God was now evidently one with them!
And for you and I, we don’t get to deep slumber once. It happens over and over again. Paul said he died daily. Slumber is akin to death. And if we partake of this slumber multiple times… I wonder how much is being added to us every time we awake.
I wonder what glory God will amount on your head the next you awake! Even Pharaoh was lost by God in slumber and warned of the noisome famine to come!
God — our God says He doesn’t sleep or slumber as He keeps and watches you in Psalm 121. This means God doesn’t need anything else added to Him. He’s at the end while we are at the beginning. And for a journey of life we need as much as we can get to be able to accomplish our individual purposes.
So slumber again! Being conscious to lose yourself again by God’s hand each new morning! It’s consecration again and again. Not forgetting that consecration is like circumcision.
Meaning… As things are added to you — as you seek first Him and His righteousness , as all things are being added to you — some are being subtracted. This is the pruning the vine dresser does in John’s book. These include envy, jealousy, idolatry, wickedness, anger, narcissism, curses, and anything else unholy; this is bitterness, unforgiveness, vengeance, addictions and sin!
Lose yourself today, and be found by God… But perhaps He has already found you!
So lose yourself today, and find Him.
And even if Him you found yesterday, there’s another part of Him you’ll find and see, when you lose yourself again today!

2 Corinthians 4:11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
Job 33:14-18 For God may speak in one way, or in another, [Yet man] does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction. In order to turn man [from his] deed, And conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.
Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
