On Your Birthday…

Today is my birthday, and what God taught me was the validity of our individual power of creation over our lives.

There’s been a joke about Job and February. He cursed the day of his birth as witnessed in the book about him, the third chapter. Many also forget that Jeremiah sprawled in the same boat.

Cursed be the day in which I was born! Let the day not be blessed in which my mother bore me! (20:14) He said.

He was frustrated about ministry, and how everyone seemed to mock him. But, by wisdom, I find it very unfortunate saying such. If God makes things with a purpose for their existence — like how a man makes a machine to be his aide — it is shallow for the thing to wish it was unmade then, especially if it hasn’t fully grasped what it was made for.

But how about if what it was made for, it doesn’t like! The burden of trying men and judging their behavior — their adultery — led Jeremiah to this point, and it’s okay, God says, when purpose seems to weigh you down … but what isn’t okay is wishing you weren’t born. Several have died short of the promise of long life, so care must be taken when our anger we try to express.

For whatever purpose He made you for, He always wired in you the grit to stand with any inconvenience that could come with fulfilling that purpose.

The emphasis however is on the joke about February. February gets to have 28 or 29 days at some point and history points it back to a Romanian Numa who played around with the Gregorian calendar to suit some Romanian rituals.

But my spirit leads me to think that the 30th and 31st day of February belonged to Job and Jeremiah respectively on the spiritual plane; and if their days got scrapped off, in negativity, how much more can we create in positivity. If God didn’t spare Jesus, what else shall He spare from you!

God having made a purpose for you, you should never be caused to regret or say anything contrary to His thoughts towards you. So instead of speaking negatively, speak the things He has spoken over you. Let His word — He being your creator — hold higher weight than your own words, for He’s the greater and you’re the lesser. He’s the author of your faith, and you live by faith. So, read the faith He’s written of you that you might live by it this new year of yours.

Meditate on scriptures such as;

Psalms 2:7-9 Let me tell you what GOD said next. He said, “You’re my son, And today is your birthday. What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? You can command them all to dance for you, Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.”(msg)

My other favorite is Psalms 21:1-7;

The king (which is you in this case) shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. He asked life of thee, [and] thou gavest [it] him, [even] length of days for ever and ever. His glory [is] great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him. For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.(KJV)

Choose to be grateful to have lived longer. Find reason to be thankful for. Let your birthday be an opportunity for you to create what you want to see or enjoy; for if Job and Jeremiah spoke against their birthday, and it came to pass, then I believe if you speak in favor of your birthday (and beyond that: your very self), it too, I’m convinced, shall come to pass! Yes Kings shall come to your rising. Yes your greatness shall increase on every side. Yes you will see your grand children. It doesn’t matter what family history you have. It doesn’t matter what the doctors have said. You have the power to create what you want to see. (Prov 18:21)

Stay grateful! Stay positive! 🤗

Happy Birthday!
