He who sits in Heaven Laughs

How would God react, if He had been told that He had cancer? How would He react if He was told He was broke?

I’m sure you are already laughing at the impossibility of this!

God taught me to react the same when unrealistic lies are imposed on me by that very same enemy.

Lies like ‘I’m insufficient’, that ‘I’m broke’, that ‘I’m sick’. They are all contrary to what God has already said about me.

Rather than letting anxiety weigh you down, try laughing. Try laughing at every joke the enemy tries on you. For you sit in Heaven with God. As He is so are you. If He laughs at the derision of the enemy, you too can.

The devil hates mockery. He hates the fact that you can respond to him with genuine laughter. It nullifies his darts. It’s like beating up someone and instead of them crying, they are laughing. That is just disappointing. It drains the flogger.

In the same manner, laugh at poverty. Laugh at bad news. Laugh at failure. Your reaction to their attempts will raise a resistance to imply that their effect isn’t stinging, and in due course, they’ll flee.

Verse two of Psalm two says kings take their place to take counsel against the Lord. This is the same thing that befalls every believer. Things and realities try to take counsel against God. While He says you were healed, they are claiming how you were not. That’s being against the Creator’s decree. Later we see God, on top of His mockery, anoint David and giving Him all the nations of these kings that have been against God.

This is when the prophecy is fulfilled where Rebekah was told that her seed would possess their enemy’s gates (Gen 24:60). Cities back in the day had main entrances called gates. When you possess them, you hold the keys to let in or to let out. You’ve conquered your enemies’ cities but they think they are free. You can lock them within and have them starve. That’s why you are of good cheer, for you overcame.

Laugh at them when they think they are winning.

Laugh away! HA HA HA…

Psalms 2:4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.

Psalms 2:8-9 What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? You can command them all to dance for you, Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.” MSG
