Speech that Agrees

Mark 14:70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art [one] of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth [thereto].

What I like about this portion is the fact that Peter could not hide the effect of where he had been. Can you imagine he had been with Jesus so much such that those surrounding him could easily point out that he stood out of the crowd!

What gave him off was his speech! He spoke like Jesus. Perhaps he wasn’t using profanity in that moment. I do not know what he mentioned in that moment so quick that tipped them off… but, I pray today, that your speech agrees with God.

When you have been with Him, you have good success and your way is very prosperous because you have meditated on His word and you’ve not let it depart from your mouth (Joshua 1:8). The good success and prosperity is a form of speech by which the world will confirm that you are one of ‘them’ or one of ‘Him’.

When you have perfect peace, that will be a speech the world will see you speak and confirm that you have been with God (or that you are with Him), because you have stayed your mind on Him.

Your generosity — is also a speech. It’ll agree in the form that you’ll always have abundance, because your cup overflows.

Perhaps you will find yourself in an unusual environment that may not suit you, but need I say you won’t be able to hide the truth that you are a ‘Galilean’. You’ll automatically stand out. Your speech won’t be like your environment’s! And unlike Peter, men will hold your skirt and scream, “We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you! For you speak His language. Your life agrees & testifies.”

And it will be a time when many have tried to find Him, but He seems hidden. Once they find you, they’ll ask to be taught that speech. And they’ll ask to be converted!

All to the glory of your Almighty God!

How must we respond when our speech is discovered? — The way Jesus responded in Mark 15:2. Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered and said to him, “[It is as] you say.”

Like Jesus receive the boldness today not to deny your speech. They’ll say you’re too peaceful — too prosperous & holy; and it’s your duty to be humble enough not to deny it. For to deny your speech is to deny that you’re Galilean. And to deny you’re Galilean is to deny your identity (as one — in this case — who’s been one with the Lord). And He said that if we deny Him on earth, He’d deny us in Heaven.

Don’t let the cock crow the second time while you live in denial of part (or all) of the God-life.

Esther 8:17 And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land BECAME Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Zechariah 8:23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days [it shall come to pass], that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard [that] God [is] with you.
