Faith Rituals

I do not smear myself any other Vaseline or lotion that does not have its roots from the Olive tree. Yes there are so many types of sweet smelling lotion ‘flavors’ but allow me indulge you.

Psalms 128 talks about your children being like the olive plants around your table. I once talked about the mystery of the olive tree. The olive tree is one of the trees with long life as its attributes. It lives up to 3000-4000 years (unless if uprooted entirely to the last hair thin root)

YES! Believe you me!

When made in comparison to your children, it means your children are to live long. And I am a child! So how have I responded by faith? Well, I use olive oil products. I use olive oil products and every time I apply that lotion, I am reminded that I am an olive tree. Those trees seem short and they don’t exaggerate in girth like sequoias or cedars. To the viewer, they don’t look old, and yet they are. They bear the truth of ‘youth being renewed as the eagle’s.’

It’s no wonder that children call me seventeen years old, or eighteen and yet I am way older than that. That’s the faith working. That’s the result of the application of understanding. Just like Jesus told us to take communion as often as we can to remember His body and blood, I oil myself that specific lotion to carry the presence of long life and youth renewed as the eagle’s. Thanks to my mom who introduced me to this olive oil lotion specifically.

I have a vial of olive oil as well. I apply it in my hair and on my hands as I confess ‘He anoints my head with oil’. Now ardent readers of the Bible must understand that olive oil was the type used for anointing priests and kings. The olive was indeed no ordinary tree, and when I carry out this same ritual, I convey the power that’s been lost in today’s generation yet which was alive millennia ago causing its effects to manifest on me.

When David lost his first child with Bathsheba and after he’d mourned, it’s mentioned that he washed up and anointed himself with oil. This signifies that we too can do it as in private spaces and not necessarily waiting for that annual anointing service in church.

The anointing oil also carries healing abilities. James asks that the sick are anointed with oil. (5:14) Yesterday, my hands had bruises and I applied olive oil over my palms. I didn’t even pray much, but at the moment, I was remembering the words in James. My bruises varnished. It’s like the oil connected my meditation and manifested my expectation.

The verb ‘to anoint’ also meant to personify or materialize the Holy Spirit. Once you carry such knowledge, you find that every time you come into contact with this oil, it’s a holy moment. In the same way the gentiles are grafted into God’s family by faith, one finds themselves doing things that were only secured for the Jewish culture, making them Hebrew by faith (since they are doing things the Hebrews do) and let’s remember that faith without actions is dead.

As I oil myself, I activate the kingly anointing. As I oil myself, I activate the priestly anointing. As I oil myself (specifically with the olive oil), I am acknowledging the truth about the olive tree, that as it is, so am I.

Living up to 3000 years means the tree has a strong immune system to fight off disease. As I olive oil myself I activate the truth that I am prospering health wise and physically as my soul prospers!

The moral of the story is for you to put into practice whatever revelation or knowledge you receive in any means possible, so that you reap the benefits of the promises that come with it, just like I have shared my story or in the same manner as Jesus encouraged us to have the holy communion in remembrance of Him.

James 2:22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
