Your Kind of Help

Psalms 121:1-2 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help [comes] from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

I was meditating on this and I realized something; That my (your) help comes from God. The maker of heaven and earth.

Your help won’t come from your boss. It won’t come from your salary. It won’t come from your country’s economy. Your help won’t come from your boyfriend. It won’t come from your bank or your connections! It won’t come from your pastor! It won’t come from your best friend!

All these CAN fail!

It won’t come from your savings. It won’t come from that rich relative who works in the government. It won’t come from your family. Sometimes these things can’t save! The point here is to understand who your helper is. He has no limitations. The red seas obey Him. They split at His command. They become solid at His thought that you might walk on them to Him.

He won’t fail you!

Psalms 121:3-4 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

You might be in a place of need at a time where all your ultimate sources are deep asleep. Once you try calling them, they may not respond, even if they are willing to help. But what is the point of being willing, yet unavailable when I’m drowning in a pit.

God being awake at all times, pretty adds onto His CV, watching you and predicting any pit fall ahead causes Him to save, causes Him to make all crooked places straight before you get there. It causes Him to fill all valleys and level all mountains for you. He won’t allow you suffer. He wasn’t asleep when the Israelites were suffering. He sent them a Moses.

He won’t fail you!

Psalms 121:5-6 The LORD [is] your keeper; The LORD [is] your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.

He will keep you unlike the watchmen. They too fall asleep on the job, and unless the Lord watches, the watchman watches in vain. The maker of all that you see and don’t see, is your keeper! What more level of security do you need! He is sufficient! It is He who breathes and lightning & thunder puff out His nostrils! What a guard! What security! It is He that causes your enemy, the Syrian army, to lose sight when they come to attack you. Now which kind of human security can do that? None!

Psalms 121:7-8 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

May you focus on how big your God is today. For the confidence that your help comes from Him can only be more, with the increase in the depth of how BIG you see Him. Your help won’t come from the United States. Your help won’t come from the marines! All these fall short as well. They too need saving at some point. How much more He that created each of them!

Your help isn’t coming from any god. But the maker of all that you see! Commander of legions of angel armies.

He is mighty to save!

He is mighty to help!

He is your kind of help!

He is … an ever present help! Never to be found on leave, or too busy to attend to you.

Psalms 146:5-6 Happy [is he] who [has] the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope [is] in the LORD his God, Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that [is] in them; Who keeps truth forever,

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
