God’s Thoughts Concerning You

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (NKJV)

Are you sick? Have you heard the lies such as… ‘It is God’s will that I am sick’?

Does being sick give you peace? . . . No? Why then do you think God thinks such towards you?

Clearly the end of sickness isn’t peace. Who’d like a future full of disease! Who’d like a future of writhing & high temperatures? The first quote is a false doctrine. It’s not God who came to steal, to kill and to destroy!

Jeremiah 29:11 says ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.’ (KJV)

Has your father or close friend ever said terrible things about you? Have they ever regretted anything about you? Their thoughts toward you THEN weren’t ‘of peace’. Sometimes according to the degree of mistakes you made, was the degree of evil thought against you.

Some friends envy you. They wished you failed, they wished you didn’t make it. That’s evil! Even sometimes … parents. Some got so angry at what their children did that they disowned them. No wonder God said even if your mother or father abandoned you, He would never… For He made you.

A mother abandoning her child is so rare, but in the event that it happens, in the event that one’s mother thinks evil of their child—like in Uganda we have seen mothers throw their babies in latrines, and all over the world, we’ve seen mothers murder their children through abortion—God says He’d NEVER think such towards you. However bad you acted. Love constrains Him.

Others say ‘Maybe it’s God’s will that I am poor’… They haven’t believed the promises such as ‘He became poor for their sake so that they, through his poverty would become rich.’ (2 Cor 8:9)

Other times we say ‘It was God’s will that he or she died like that…’ Like what? Before reaching 20? Dying of an accident? Do you think God created someone with the intention to have their lives that short? The same God said ‘With long life He’d satisfy…’ (Psalm 91:16)

Then when others die by accident God is still falsely accused.

‘He wanted to take him that way…’ They say at funerals, but in the same Psalm 91, He talks about evil not befalling you (verse 10)

If you’re to die, there are better ways on how to; like going peacefully in sleep, after you knowing the time. Jacob knew the time He was about to die. And so He called and blessed his 12 sons and grandsons.

Just like God’s thoughts concerning you are of peace, He expects us to live our lives basking in a surrounding of longevity and peace.

See what the Psalmist writes in Psalms 37:11 ‘But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.’ His kingdom is righteous, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. And I’m not saying suffering won’t come. Yes it will, but remember God’s thoughts towards you are of PEACE.

Joseph was sold as a slave. The suffering wasn’t instigated by God. It’s his brothers who became envious of Him. But to prove that God still had thoughts of peace for Joseph, even as a slave … as a prisoner, Joseph was promoted, and placed in charge of things, until he was placed in charge of the entire nation of Egypt.

Even when the things done to him were meant for evil, God’s alignment to think peace towards Joseph—towards us—enables Him to turn them all around for our good!

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)

Did God think evil towards Job? NO! In fact, we see God boasting of Job until the devil bets on it. He’s struck, but none of it was God’s doing… In the end, you see God prospering Job again, giving double all He lost! Now that’s God’s mindset towards you too. Restoring twice—thrice—what the locusts ate & what the enemy stole from you.

What if your pastor or man of God spoke ill against you? What if your boss plans to fire you? Maybe you screwed up big time! Yes they’d be angry at you, but God still wouldn’t think any plans of evil against you & neither would He think evil against them.

Like the pharisees perhaps you’re the woman caught in adultery! They seek to stone you, but Jesus suggests ‘if none has sinned, let them cast the first stone.’ God understands your situation. He is gracious and merciful.

Even after David killing Uriah and marrying Bathsheba, and losing their first child … He still didn’t lose the brand ‘the man after God’s own heart.’ Even if your pastor, or boss (or anyone in a higher authority) no longer esteem(s) you (though I’m not advising you to hold grudges…) It is relieving to know that in the eyes of the maker of all you see and those above you, there’s no wrong recorded against you. So whether they curse you, it won’t matter … for a greater than them has already blessed you.

Saul murdered Christians. He murdered God’s people in ignorance. And though God made Him blind for a few days, notice that God didn’t have thoughts of evil towards Him, but those to prosper him. And now look how we quote Apostle Paul a million times a day across the world!

Rahab was a prostitute. She deserved to be judged to death by stoning. But, God’s thoughts towards her were that she’d be the great great grandmother of the world’s savior, Jesus Himself!

The person you might not like … Even him or her … God’s thoughts towards that person are of peace & not disaster! The problem only comes if that person doesn’t know it! It’s like expecting mail from a country so far. The letters have been coming to inform you that God has great plans for you, but either the thief has always got to your mail box first and got rid of the mail, or you received it but have never bothered to tear the envelopes to read what’s within.

In both cases, you’ll never know!

You’ll never know that the person from whom you’ve been expecting mail has been writing to you all this while. If God has been dying to tell you of His plans through those letters, you’ll never know how ‘of peace’ they are! … how ‘to prosper you’, they are! You’ll instead go around accepting whatever you’re told. Whether it is that life is hard, or that God is mad at you. And you’ll take it as gospel truth, yet the celestial has been trying to reach you.

Make up your mind today! Open those letters from God! You’ll discover His great plans for you! None are for disaster, but all for peace! Let this set, like concrete in your mind! Even when it seems like everybody’s against you … He is never against you. And if God be for you, who can be against you?

Yes, you aborted! Perhaps you’ve been labelled a thief! God’s thoughts towards you are still of peace and prosperity. Yes, you are not in good terms with your parents. Even then, God’s thoughts towards you are still of peace and prosperity. Maybe your parents treated you wrong. Maybe you’re the one they tried to abort, or threw in the latrine … Even then, God’s thoughts towards YOUR PARENTS, are still of peace and prosperity. To love God with all our hearts, and souls, is to obtain such a mindset. Once we do, forgiveness of the wrong done toward us becomes so easy. For we discover that God (who is Love) holds no record of wrong towards them.

Yes, you’re addicted to alcohol, or smoking, or masturbation. Even then, God’s thoughts towards you, are of peace and prosperity. This grace & love of God disarms the power of addiction and sin, to lose a hold of you!

Effortlessly, yet subtly, you’ll one day wake up and wonder where the condemnation and bitterness and unforgiveness and addiction went! Well, setting you free from such as these, is also part of His plans, and thoughts towards you!

O how He loves you! ❤

Jeremiah 1:5 the amplified version says, Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] APPROVED of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

To approve means ‘to confirm’, ‘to regard as good’, ‘to commend’, ‘to be pleased’, ‘to think well of…’

God is saying, before He formed you in your mother’s womb, He regarded you as good. He was pleased with you. He thinks well of you, no matter what you’ve done, or where you are! His thoughts concerning you won’t change. They are independent of your actions, and dependent on what Christ did. He thinks well of you! For this cause … we are encouraged. For this cause, we smile ❤️❤️❤️
