I have watched people drive cars all my life. Heck, I have sat in the passenger seat and helped the driver reverse by looking through the side mirrors. I know where they insert the key, or press the button to get the engine running…
I know the joy stick for gears, and the padding for brakes. BUT— I happened to sit behind a steering wheel recently, and it occurred to me that I wouldn’t drive! Not saying I can’t drive, I have never driven before, nor attended driving school for that matter.
I just stared at the steering wheel for minutes, and ran out of my uncle’s car before I’d do anything stupid.
This is what God told me,
“There are people who like driving, think they know the Bible, or know me. They’ve sat in passenger seats for many years, observing those in the driver seat. They might know what indicators do, a little bit of here and there, but let that driver pass out during a highway journey, and you’ll see utter panic!
“Many of my children put their faith in someone else’s knowing. When you need someone to convey your big masterpieces you always hire a learned driver to chauffeur you, which you wouldn’t need if you knew how to drive. But what if he vanished while driving…! You would not even have the confidence to switch seats. You wouldn’t know what to do.
“They say ‘it is somewhere in the Bible that by his stripes we were healed…’ They know someone who knows exactly where it is, but they do not! If disease comes, and that scripture isn’t providing sufficient fortitude, off to medicine they go, never giving chance to faith to grow. See if they KNEW what Jesus’ stripes really did, and tried or tested it, they’d be confident that it’d work again the second time disease tries to afflict them.
“If they never do, they’ll always ‘find a driver (medicine) to convey them all the way. But what if it’s midnight! What if no driver is available yet there’s a car! Then one only needs to be a driver themselves. And what if all medicine stores have run out of that particular drug…? Then you need to know one that’s open and never runs outs and where it is located—which is God and the knowledge of Him, which is in you always.
“If you do know, you’ll be confident, when any kind of evil tries to strike, be it disease or lack. You won’t be moved. For you’ll no longer need a driver. You’ll have gone through driving school yourself…The first time driving of course might make you shake a bit, but, three, four more times of practising that knowledge, and you’ll be confident behind any steering wheel, and even the more, the more you drive on different roads.
“It’s not knowing about me. It is about knowing me!
