The other day, my guardians left home (for work). Several visitors came around and they sat outside. Some of them were friends to my guardians. But they were never invited into the house by my relatives’ children. They were hosted outside the house in a cool shade.
As that went on, God began to speak to me about how like my guardians, ‘He went to work’. Yes. My cousins wielded an authority while my guardians were away. They had access to their bedroom, to pick utilities necessary for the home use.
Not anyone enters that bedroom! Ugandans know how the master bedroom is the strictest room in any African setting, probably because a lot of money and highly valued items are kept in that room.
God taught me part of the responsibility of us being His sons and daughters from this small observation.
No wonder He used the parable of a rich man or vineyard owner going away, several times. It made sense now.
God is in Heaven, and He left us in charge! We have access to His bedroom (thank Him the veil was torn😂) and we have to continue running this world! Of course many people say the world is owned by the devil, but I beg to differ.
God’s word says ‘the earth and its fullness therein are His.’ The devil is the cunning guest that comes around uninvited knowing that the big man isn’t around, and his kids might stupidly fall for his tricks giving him leeway to steal and destroy the property in the house.
He might not necessarily aim for the master bedroom, but that doesn’t mean the 72 inch screen in the living room isn’t of some good value! Beware! He could even befriend your house, and come in the name of ‘family friend’, then one day, you trust him with the house while daddy is away, and all your siblings have gone somewhere, and you leave to the 10-minutes-away shop, only to return, and the valued appliances and home heirlooms are gone!
He might not have killed or destroyed anything, but he also comes to steal. Have you befriended the enemy? Have you let him come so close? Have you tolerated his advice? You’re giving place to him! Next time you blink he might steal from you! WAKE UP!
Shut him out. Preserve the inheritance! Daddy left you in charge. Don’t allow him to bring sickness around. You’re not ignorant of his devices. Don’t allow his agents around! Thieves these days know that there’s ‘no weapon formed against you that can prosper…’ So they won’t bother coming armed! They’ll make you hand over the good stuff freely to them!
Be a good son! Be a good daughter! Don’t squander what your father has gathered up for you and for generations to come! Be vigilant! Be sober! He roams about like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour!
But Daddy trusted you so much that He left you in charge. He sees a Kevin MCcallister in you!

Ephesians 4:26-27 [ “Be angry, and do not sin”]: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
2 Corinthians 2:11b … for we are not ignorant of his devices.
