The work of Righteousness

Isaiah 32:17-18 ‘The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places…’

I am a boy, or a man. Whatever you find fit to call me. And growing up, there has always seemed a need to train. I used to see boys learning how to box or to fight. And the reason they gave was ‘for defence.’

Movies have ruined us. Sometimes it is us who attract these fights trying to prove a point—that we too can flex!

You see, regardless, the Bible says, ‘the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, joy in the Holy Ghost…’ (Rom 14:17) I do not want to form any doctrines, but, I believe that order isn’t random. I believe after we have understood righteousness, peace follows, for it is a work of righteousness.

In other words, peace is a result of righteousness. If you are righteous, by faith, let alone, the very righteousness of God, peace is your normal! And then joy will follow—for one can’t be joyful in a state void of peace.

Trouble doesn’t mean peace isn’t evident! If you doubt, ask Jesus while he slept during the storm!

Another virtue whose effect is peace is wisdom. We see that King Solomon never fought any wars. He dwelt in so much peace he never knew how to swing a sword! And that’s when God educated me;

If you are wise, you will not need to fight. Jesus was made wisdom unto us. Even his fight-looking-like times were peaceful. He showed up and demons trembled, begging Him to send them into the pigs. You don’t see him folding his sleeves and yelling at them to skedaddle out of the possessed man.

God prophesied in our theme verse saying, we shall dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. That and fights can’t co-exist. It is just plenty of rest & calm.

Sieze to fight today. Hold your peace and He’ll fight for you.

Stay wise! Enjoy the work of righteousness! Choose to dwell in PEACE!

Proverbs 3:13 Happy [is] the man [who] finds wisdom, And the man [who] gains understanding; v17 Her ways [are] ways of pleasantness, And all her paths [are] PEACE.

Proverbs 8:8 All the words of my mouth (wisdom) are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.
