Greatness Under Attack

From yesterday’s post we were cautioned to see the greatness in us even when all that is surrounding us shows no sign of greatness.

Well, that was one side of the coin. Today, something else came to mind. What if someone else sees your greatness? What if they see it as a threat? What if they misinterprete the greatness that you will turn out to be! What if they have power over you! Things might not turn out pretty!

I have experienced that. And it causes even the closest of friends to sever ties!

Jesus suffered the same when the wise men came from the east. They went to the wrong address: causing Herod to murder all newborns when they didn’t return to share the actual address.

Herod was Roman and an atheist. There’d be no way he’d have believed the birth of a king…of kings! As far as he knew, there was no such thing as that!

Regardless, he misinterpreted the whole thing! Propaganda! Conspiracy! Gratefully, Jesus’ father was warned in a dream to flee to Egypt. But at what cost! Though our savior survived, thousands of babies were martyred. It’s not my place to talk about the justice or injustice that wasn’t fought for or that went away with it respectively.

Be on the lookout… there are some people paying a cost, so that you’d survive to see another day, giving another chance closer to your greatness manifesting!

Moses’ incidence was different. All male infants from his ethnicity were killed to control their population. His greatness however was being indirectly attacked. Cut him off and all the greatness within him would be no more! But God in His grace and mercy preserved him till the day his divine purpose he came face to face with.

Be on the lookout… There are some things God has saved you from that could have ended you. If they had, the greatness in you could have had no chance at manifesting.

But it has now…

I pray that God continues to preserve you and yours, as He hides you safely from Herod’s bloody hands. That He will keep your greatness capped for a moment, until Herod dies… So that He can bring you back to the promised land, where that greatness was meant to start a spark, that would burn the whole world completely! (for generations)

So that in the end, you’d arise and shine, when the light of your greatness comes.

So, don’t feel bad if that dream hasn’t come to pass yet. Maybe God is protecting your greatness from being attacked by those who might misinterpret it or see it as a threat.

Like Joseph, may He make it all work for your good, making even those who tried to attack your greatness, benefit from it!

Let God, your loving maker, maintain your lot, (which includes your greatness)…

Merry Christmas once again! 🌲
