In the movie Home Alone, the McCallister household goes for a vacation in Paris. 15 family members were living in the same house, and it was evident that a lot of food and drink were needed. Peter McCallister was a rich man, and where a lot of food is, there’s a lot of people.
It is hard to enjoy a party without food. Imagine you went for a wedding reception and there was no food. Many guests would be disappointed. Food is an icon of celebrations. No wonder many people in the old testament had ranches and ranches of sheep, goats and bulls. Meat was to be abundant.
Now another term usually used for food in the Bible is bread. Jesus said He is the bread of life. And He took it a notch higher by multiplying 5 loaves of bread to feed 5000 men. He not only gave physical bread, but He being spiritual bread signified His being some kind of bread constantly, that men ate of whenever He spoke.
Now we also understand that this Jesus is the very word of God. If He was (is) bread, that only concludes that this bread is the word of God. And wherever Jesus (the bread) went, crowds flocked. Aside the miracles, He fed these people heavenly bread such that even sinners came along.
What shall we say of these things!
Have bread and men will always come.
Have the word of God always, and you too shall be bread that men will eat of always.
People love where’s food. Good food. And since they are spirits, they can be able to tell where they can find good spiritual food. Jesus said the words He speaks are spirit, and He is in you, making you bread of life. But a man with one loaf feeds less people than one with five. One with 100 loaves feeds more than that with five.
Have a deeper understanding of the word of God, and you’ll both increase in wisdom and volume as spiritual bread, causing nations to flow to you!
