Psalms 16:10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
The Psalmist declares that God would not allow him to see corruption. To understand this, we need to define corruption. What is to corrupt?
To make corrupt is; to change from good to bad; to draw away from the right path; to deprave; to pervert; to rot; to debase or render impure by alterations or innovations; to falsify; to corrupt language, or a holy text. To waste, spoil, or consume; to make worthless
I’m sure we all know what it means to go from good to bad. From health to sickness. From wealth to poverty. Even in the very example David gives, he talks about life to death. Death in any form—be it poverty or sickness. This is defined by the ‘rotting’, or wasting or spoiling.
To be New Testament creatures is a great blessing. God saw an antidote to David’s cry. And through his very seed He provided it. God devised, that a change of nature in us would get us rid of corruption. How? Getting born again. Receiving a new nature! We were, previously, naturally, made of a thing that’s corruptible. The flesh. But the newness of birth gives us a new nature.
Check this out;
1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
Incorruptible means not only the opposite of corruptible, but more. If our new spirits are incorruptible, that means we moved from poverty to wealth. From sickness to health. Imagine God, for He is His Word (John 1:1) and His Word is incorruptible— can He fall sick? Can He be poor? No!
In the same way, that’s your nature now. He’s your Father! And a child is a complete copy of his father.
Andrew Wommack said, ‘You’re the healthy that the devil is convincing & trying to make sick. You’re the rich that the devil is convincing & trying to make poor.’
He seeks to corrupt. He seeks to lie. But you have to resist him. Thankfully the psalmist received a revelation. He says that God won’t allow his holy one to see corruption. God will rebuke the devourer from sowing seeds of regression.
The amplified version says ‘You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.’
This version uses the picture of a sperm… Now I’m an African (okay that’s an understatement)… I am black. My parents are black. This was because in the sperm of my father, there was no whiteness of skin in it. So forever, my skin is melanin dark!
In the same manner, if forever my skin is dark, the incorruptibility in God’s sperm forever exists within my spiritual DNA. Now, the flesh may not always see it, but Romans 12:2 says it can live in that incorruptibility by the renewing of our minds. Only then can it manifest, and my flesh transformed to live in that incorruptibility!
Renewing them with what—you might ask! The truths of these incorruptibility of course; The truth that you being healthy is your new normal. Not just health but good health! The truth that you being wealthy is your new normal. Not just wealth but good wealth!
Every promise that you know in God’s Word, every good word that speaks of your incorruptibility; no plague coming near your dwelling and no evil befalling you—those are evidences of your incorruptibility.
In the verse, David said, ‘You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.’ (Psalms 16:11) Such as I’ve explained, is the path of your life. The permanence (like my dark skin can’t turn white) of your identity going forward.
Now it just occurred to me that some people bleach. Some dark skinned people have gone for plastic surgery, but that won’t change the fact that their sperms or ova carry a component of darkness in their skins. Their children will still have dark pigment. Do you see that degree of darkness, too deep it is conveyed within your insides.
That’s the same with what God has done. He blesses you so much that even your children that are still deep within your womb or sperm form are blessed as well. Just like someone can change their dark skin, if we don’t renew our minds, even if we are born again, we could be tricked to believe a different identity—one that states that white skin is the definition of beauty (figuratively)
We will believe that sickness is our portion. We will believe that poverty is ‘God’s will’. We will believe that corruption is our lot.
I just explained that that’s not so.
Your incorruptibility can’t be undone. Keep renewing your mind however, so that you don’t lack the knowledge of your incorruptibility. If you lack it,you perish!
May God not allow you see corruption through the understanding of His word!
