How Glory Comes…

There’s a glory that comes only when heaven moves.

Exodus 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

The cloud is part of the firmament, which is a heaven, according to Genesis.

There’s a glory that comes only when man communes & talks with God.

Exodus 33:11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

Exodus 34:29 Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony [were] in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.

There’s a glory that comes only when worship resounds. Remember that story of King Jehoshaphat? This is the famous story where priests sang to God while going for war (who does that?), and He fought their battle for them;

2 Chronicles 20:22-23 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy [them.] And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

Verses 29-30 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of [those] countries when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel. Then the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.

There’s a glory that comes only in the tabernacle of the Lord.

Exodus 40:38 For the cloud of the LORD [was] above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

There’s a glory that comes only when one steps into covenant with God. The ark returning to the temple represents this, for today, we are the temple of God (the Holy Spirit) & the ark returning, represents His covenant ‘entering’, and glory manifesting

1 Kings 8:3 So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. v10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy [place,] that the cloud filled the house of the LORD v11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.

There’s a greater glory that comes when one keeps the covenant with God. The other was merely when God enters a person, or a place. This is when someone recognizes it, and takes on the responsibility to steward it, and groom it—more like increasing in the knowledge of what this covenant with God is exactly. The evidence is provided by a man called Obed-Edom

1 Chronicles 13:13-14 So David would not move the ark with him into the City of David, but took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that he had.

I am persuaded that the ark had to be dusted, or cleaned in or about it. I am sure even in the temple, the priests did so as well, unless, if we assume, that supernaturally, no spiders could create any cobwebs around or inside the ark.

No wonder Jesus says if you love me, keep (obey) my commands.

There’s yet another glory that comes when you keep God’s Word. What’s the difference between keeping His word and keeping the covenant then? To me it’s like knowing whose you are, and who you are. Just like it’s different when a married woman carries the name of her husband (and observes it refusing to divorce) from her knowing what kind of man she got married to!

There’s a glory that comes by prayer! Oh there’s a glory that comes, when a wise king prays. No wonder God has made us kings and priests unto Himself. People say talking to God is prayer. But there’s a big difference when you are talking sweet things to someone invisible, and when that someone overrides you.

For a new testament creature; Talking to God is a function of ourselves. Praying to Him is a function of Him, Himself. To talk, we can use out mind. To pray, we need to use our spirit. And so for example, if you’ve noticed, His Spirit groans for us in a way we can’t before the Father. He knows what to ask of Him (for us) that is in His will. Talking might be asking for a thing we merely want. Praying is for what we need for life and godliness!

2 Chronicles 7:1 When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

There’s a glory that is activated when one fasts (and prays) … In Isaiah 58, we are told the repercussions of fasting, and here’s one of them;

Isaiah 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

This glory comes with revelation and very fast healing! And on that note…

There is a glory that comes when light (revelation) comes into us (by God’s very word). Here it doesn’t say, the glory of the Lord comes before the light. It is the light, then glory. Isaiah 60, enforces it.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.

The light gives us confidence to rise and shine, being a light of the world set on high like a city on a hill; May you receive more light—more revelation today!

There is a glory that comes by prophecy;

Isaiah 62:3 You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God.

There’s a glory that comes by God Himself. Through God the Holy Spirit. We see this when Jesus is baptized and then He descends. Even Heaven opened for God to speak. All the miracles Jesus did, this Holy Spirit was the force behind the scenes.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

From Him, to the apostles who did mighty exploits and caused to the conversion of thousands of thousands of thousands unto God who are today billions. This is the Holy Spirit who brings about a glory that comes in multitudes of peoples. He makes your life glorious! Filling your life with more glory, making you a wonder unto all men!
