Resist the Devil … he’ll flee!

So you have ulcers? You have sinuses? Resist the devil and he’ll flee!

So you have cancer? You have covid? Resist the devil and he’ll flee!

So you are broke? You have no cash? Resist the devil and he’ll flee!

(James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you)

The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. The fact that he comes to steal, actually means you have good health and a lot of money in your spirit, and once your physical convinces you that you have not, once you think as these, then you are.

The Bible says as a man thinketh so is he. Do you think you have cancer? Do you think you’re broke? … ‘So is he’. The same Bible says, ‘This is love made perfect, that we might have boldness in that day, … for as He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world!’

Let’s shift our eyes and mental faculties and think about what we are thinking. Instead of thinking about how we are, let’s think about how Jesus is. For then, that will in turn influence how we think, and then we shall finally BE…

Is Jesus ulcered? NO. Is Jesus cancered? NAY! Is Jesus broke? NOOOO! He lived a broke life so that you could bask in His riches!

So what does resisting the devil look like? I believe it is seeing ourselves as Jesus is, and not how the world has labelled us or how the devil has tagged us!

I believe resisting the devil is walking by faith and not by sight! Walking by faith and not by feelings! Believing that Jesus’ stripes purchased our perfect health is how we ought to walk. Not being moved by the groans of the belly or symptoms of severe cough.

Refuse to be shaken. Resisting was a word I believe James considered super carefully. To resist means to oppose or ‘to withstand the actions of…’ We all know that the devil’s actions entail mainly of lies, and once we believe those lies, we empower them to become our realities!

To resist also means to submit or obey. Do not submit to the devil or the voices of the world for though you might be in it, you are not of it!

The resisting might be continual and not a one-off. That is why Paul tells us to hold fast the confession of our faith. Meaning, it won’t be blown once and the devil will leave. It is stubborn that creature! It’ll provoke you by one-two-five lies thrown your direction. Confessing the scripture only once might not impress your flesh that you’ve overcome…It has to be uncountable!

Holding fast means the ulcers might continue twinging, but you’re not shaken. It is continuing safe in your standing in the assurance of the report that you WERE healed even if your cancer is now stage 2 from 1. If it reaches stage 4, will you start writing a will, or will you remember that you’ve set God at your right hand and He shall not suffer you to be moved; And that He’s not a man that He should lie, and that His word never returns void! Will you stay standing when the winds blow!

Don’t give in. The devil has no Holy Spirit, who produces patience, so your advantage is that he can’t ‘suffer long’. You’ll outwait him. In your waiting, don’t give in. Don’t allow the slightest of thought that is contrary to God’s word. Cast it down (2 Cor 10:5) while it’s still a thought, for if you entertain it farther it metamorphoses into a reality through your meditation!

Before the resisting of the devil, James said ‘submit to God’. This shows the order of things, that you can’t resist the devil having not submitted to God. Remember submission is the opposite of resistance. This submission is in His word, so that when the enemy comes, you’ll use it to resist him, and trust me, he can not stay if you fight the good fight of faith.

And once you’ve believed, stay believing! Many of us after praying say ‘but I still feel the pain…’, ‘the money hasn’t appeared…’ Faith’s got to be crazy, dear child: the spiritual realm manifests it straight away, though in the physical (sometimes) it might take long to manifest depending on your reaction by faith!

We’ve seen men who get instantly healed out of the wheelchairs, and yet return to the same after. Did God fail? No! The devil wasn’t resisted enough (maybe because God had not been submitted to enough through His word)

That’s why miracles alone aren’t enough. Men have to carry the knowledge of God in His word, that if He says yes to their healing, it is a yes indeed. And God’s yes is pure, with no untruth in it.

Research shows that most healed end up in bondage because thoughts returned of unbelief that made them doubt their complete restoration and so they AGREED to those thoughts (or aka the devil). Those are the imaginations that were against the KNOWLEDGE of God, which were never cast down (through prayer and word of the mouth)

Thus this is how we resist the devil children. Casting down by prayer, walking by faith and not by sight, believing God’s word A to Z, and seeing ourselves the way He is!

Resist the devil child of God, by submitting to Him (His word) with all your strength, with all your mind and with all your soul having complete unshaken trust in Him, having full confidence that He can’t fail you!

May He open your eyes to what scripture you have to use or apply as a sword to thwart any wile of the devil that might come to you in form of a thought!

Like in the animation ‘the Incredibles’, God’s word is the forcefield that will bounce off the enemies’ bullets. It won’t be easy, but it is not impossible! The devil only flees when you resist him and not when you tolerate him or pity yourself, or say ‘God will understand!’ Get into that ring make him bleed!

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he:

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight:

Hebrews 11:6a But without faith it is impossible to please God…

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)

Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
