Vision

I know people, and maybe you too as well know some—perhaps family or friends. Who don’t just seem but are stuck in life. People who’ve gone to good schools but haven’t got jobs in decades. Soon they give up! Some clock 40; still living in their parents’ houses. Though such continue to live, there’s an unseen perishing that’s going on underneath.

I’ve realised that it’s no witchcraft. It’s no curse. These people carry a sickness; a blindness! And like most blind people, they can’t see! They lack vision.

Most blind men can have their way around if someone helps guide them. That’s the category that can’t see at all. These need a miracle, to firstly perceive how color blue looks like. To see how trees look like, and appreciate all creation.

Most of the world falls in this next category; These are those who can see the seen but can’t see the unseen! The Israelites while leaving Egypt could see all around, but many didn’t know where they were going! And so God Himself had to lead them by pillars of fire and cloud.

Their being able to see the seen but not the unseen, made them wish to go back to slavery beyond a sea they had crossed when they ate a specific meal for years while in the desert!

Even when they neared the entry of the promised land, still many could only see the seen. God (yes, as in Almighty God) had told them He’d given them this land. But when 12 spies were sent to scout, 10 of them saw the giants in the land and feared. 2 of them, of course, saw them as well, but saw the fruit, bounty and God in His faithfulness!

What faithfulness? That He wasn’t a man that He’d lie, that He who had drowned their Egyptian enemies in the sea, could surely deal with these giants, and if indeed He had said He’d given them this land, then it was as good as done! The other 10 didn’t see nor believe it. As result, they didn’t live long enough to enter the land to taste of its milk and honey

What’s the problem with all these! The first blindness makes movement very hard. I imagine as the Israelites rushed to cross the sea, and yet had a blind man. He would have easily got trampled on as men rushed. And if others helped, maybe he would have dragged them or slowed them down.

Self pity settles in of how he feels like a burden, and so he’d as well have stayed in the divide, and wish the water of the sea called Red overflowed him and killed him. Men with such blindness think they are not loved. They look forward to handouts all the time. They tend to be an inconvenience to those around them, especially if other men see they are not willing to see. Some like the attention. But they’d be forgotten when men cross the sea.

To see, one has to be willing to see first. One has to see themselves seeing before they can see. If a man is lame, they have to see (imagine) themselves walking first, before they can walk. That then would be the eye of their spirit influencing the eye of their body which would provoke the possibility of walking. They are forced to see the unseen in order to stir and change the seen.

No wonder God kept calling Abraham a father (the unseen), even when Abraham saw no possibility of having child, let alone Sarah who was past due the childbearing age.

The type of blindness where one can’t see a thing can be healed by a guide who could describe what seeing is to the blind until the blind receives the hunger to see.

It is easier with someone who once saw but lost their sight along the way. It is easier to make such a one grunt to see again! Regardless, both these need to see themselves seeing first (or seeing again for the second example) in order to gain their sight.

The second type of blindness is somewhat broader. Though many of us have been seeing the seen, we didn’t see many ‘unseens’. All of us needed a guide to show us where to go. Growing up, our parents saw for us. Keeping us away from fires, and dangerous things.

They knew that we needed to acquire an education. Unfortunately, all of them reach a point where they can no longer see for us and let us make our own choices. Like what career we’d like to pursue, what spouse to have etc.

Many of us, as well, are Ishmaels to help Hagars see hidden wells. To help our mothers and fathers see. To help our friends and siblings to see. Being who we are will cause an impartation, an awakening for them to have a glimpse of heaven, a facade of God—yes even if it’s just His back they’ll see, it’s enough to stir an unquenchable thirst for them to pant for Him the rest of their days.

We are Jacobs as well. We lead sheep to drink as they behold spotted almond trees, causing the sheep to conceive lambs looking exactly what they saw. Meaning, we enable men to see health or wealth, and in turn begin to manufacture the same, or live in a world where these two are constants to them!

In one way or another, you can see how your ability of wisdom or knowledge will influence the receiving of sight of many thousands! A knowledgeable person imparts recovery of sight just like an optics personnel.

A friend of mine called Anne woke up last week and felt uncomfortable about her one year old child. She prayed in the Spirit all day long over her child, and as she walked in the evening, she found her child at the edge of their home stairs (which have no railing) at a height of two metres off the ground.

The baby was an inch away from falling from up thither, but she was saved. Anne was able to see the unseen and all circumstances (yes the universe), worked hand in hand to ensure that she was there to stop an accident that could have changed both her child’s future and her as a parent.

Finding the child in danger was the uncomfortable feeling she had received early in the morning! It was a kind of seeing; a warning sign by her unseen eye!

Isn’t it wonderful to see the unseen!

Let’s talk about optics personnel, the eye specialists for a moment.

Opticians are technicians trained to design, verify and fit eyeglass lenses and frames, contact lenses, and other devices to correct eyesight. They use prescriptions supplied by ophthalmologists or optometrists, but do not test vision or write prescriptions for visual correction. Opticians are not permitted to diagnose or treat eye diseases.

If the Israelites were the blind, Aaron the priest, would be an optician.

Optometrist are healthcare professionals who provide primary vision care ranging from sight testing and correction to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of vision changes. An optometrist is not a medical doctor.

Here, I’d place Moses

Opthalmologist is an — Eye M.D. — is a medical or osteopathic doctor who specializes in eye and vision care. Ophthalmologists differ from optometrists and opticians in their levels of training and in what they can diagnose and treat. As a medical doctor who has completed college and at least eight years of additional medical training, an ophthalmologist is licensed to practice medicine and surgery.

Here, I’d place God, considering His many years of working experience. He made Abraham see Him as he worshipped the moon. He made Moses see Him in a bush that burnt! He made Saul see, firstly by having made him not see. In the same way, God seeks to give not only eye vision to a billion others; but life vision, business visions, purpose visions, global visions to men.

The problem with man’s created vision, it doesn’t last or resound eternally. God can open your eyes to important unseens of your life, like He did for Joseph. He was only a boy when he saw his family bowing to him represented by the stars of heaven.

It was indirect, that he’d save them in the future. Howbeit, though it seemed to be about his family alone, it ended up being a vision that brought with it the saving of nations and tribes. God-given visions are glocal.

Both saving our local families, and global civilizations. This is because when God thinks of you, He thinks of nations. Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, He had nations in mind, and if you’re not convinced that He has imprinted visions in your heart, then perhaps you have a small vision you created yourself.

A vision given by God outlives us. Many men set a vision to get married. Once they achieve it, they are back to square one. They were as though trying to prove a point, and in many cases, the sense of purpose is drained if that is what they thought the big vision was.

Suddenly it feels not enough, like one was made for more. God’s visions take years in play and they need total dependency on Him. If you can achieve them by yourself, it is probable that He didn’t ordain them. Look at Daniel’s. His visions were about kingdoms and regimes.

He got to know of which empires would come after which. He got to know which would overthrow which. His very interpretation of those that other Kings had, caused Him to get promoted into new offices in the executive parliaments back then. All because He depended on the ultimate opthalmologist called God who gave Him access to the unseen things of the future, so that it would not be a mystery!

This is the vision God desires to give you. One that shows you all things in between and the end (like John saw). God desires (not to just give you but) that you come to the realization of whichever visions He has for you;

He desires to make you all categories of eye specialists (3 in 1), an optician to Hagars that can’t see blurry wells nearby, an optometrist to sheep and men that need to see and create their miracles, and an opthalmologist who carries out surgeries on those that can see, to give them visions of the far unseens…like Joseph and Daniel.

In all this, notice that the highest degree of eye specialist comes with increased knowledge about the eye. This comes by increased knowing of God, through His word, and spending extra time with Him, like all intimate couples do!

I pray that as I have spoken by the tongue of the learned what He wakened me to hear, that His Spirit that He anointed me with, fulfills His promise of releasing the captives, delivering those who are oppressed, downtrodden & recovering sight to the blind, freeing them as captives from whatever bondages that held them before.

Proverbs 29:18a Where [there is] no vision, the people perish….(KJV)

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]–blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. (NKJV)

In this His Word, we get to see another spanner thrown in the works (which I’d hinted on already). The latter version adds ‘redemptive revelation of God’. The first version seems to say mere blindness causes men to perish. The latter seems to be stating, that mere vision isn’t sufficient. How & why you see is also important. The purpose of the vision is equally significant.

We have people who see, some seeking on how to do good and others how to do evil. (Why do you see?) We see that God completes the visions He gave men as well. Joseph did not only interprete the vision by dream of Pharaoh but also gave a solution to the devastation that came with it.

Daniel not only received Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, but also interpreted it. Some of us are already seeing the unseen yes, but for what? To what end? Like Anne we have to be able to know what to do next thereafter, so that we stay or do the right things that will ensure the fulfilling of whatever good the vision meant to bring or the cancelling of it in case it had an evil end

Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand)

To call means to rouse or awaken. To awake means to be conscious, to stop sleeping, to bring into action or to stimulate oneself!

God is saying, only when we are conscious unto Him, only when we’ve roused ourselves unto Him and brought into action ourselves to Him, shall He SHOW us (visions of ) great and mighty things we knew nothing about!

Those who are awake unto Him constantly, are those that have continual visions, and therefore can’t perish!

No wonder, there’s a reason why the four creatures that surround the throne of God, and worship Him day & night, are made up of eyes…

As I have, I give to thee… Be elevated in your vision.

  1. as I read I realised.. if I stopped calling the thing “unseen” but rather “spiritual”.. then I can have faith to believe that open spiritual eyes can see it. Because if I call it unseen or invisible, I block my mind. I block my expection to see it. after all it is unseen. But if I call it spiritual thus it is visible to spiritual eyes, then I ask the Lord to open my spiritual eyes. You see, the issue is not the thing. that it is invisible therefore can’t be seen, rather it is my eyes. they cannot see it.
that is way the Lord came to open eyes. he didn’t change the things to make them visible to the physical eyes. Lord open my eyes
