Previously, God shone on people. Moses, we see come down from Mountain Sinai with a glowing face! But the glow kept receding each passing minute!
Psalms 67:1 “… God be merciful unto us, and bless us; [and] cause his face to shine upon us; ”
Moses was like a mirror reflecting light from a distant light source (God) but God no longer just wants to shine His face on you. He wants to shine in you & from you!
Moses was a mirror, reflecting a strong beam of His glory! You are the surface of His glory radiating from within.
1 Cor 6:17 says “He who’s joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” You’re one with Him! You and His face are the same! You’re not just a reflector like Moses. You’re a radiator of Him!
This is the New Glory! Old things are gone, behold, all things are new! Even glory! Isaiah says He does a new thing now that wasn’t created at the very beginning! This is it!
New things, New ways. New wine, New wineskins.
From reflection to radiation!
If a house is reinvented, the owner will say, ‘It was old but we tried to make it new.’ It was a renewing. For God, it is not a making of new. It is creating a thing that wasn’t there before. He leaves no sign of the old.
In the same way, He has sat on the inside of us, unlike the men of the old testament where He only interacted outwardly, mostly!
2 Corinthians 3:18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
Back then, Moses was the mirror reflecting. But today, God’s word is the mirror showing our reflection. Now if a mirror’s inside is showing an image, it’s probable that it is reflecting you who’s looking into it.
Moses was the one reflecting God, but we have God in us. We are not reflecting His rays from a spotlight hanging off a stage somewhere. We are the spotlight itself; the source of the light, God being the light!
While Moses’ glory dimmed less and less, ours shines brighter and brighter like a day dawning! There’s something great about this! I’ve only stated it, but I can’t wait to experience it even the more! I pray the same for you!
May God open your eyes, and enable you live in this New Glory!
