Hearing by the Word

Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Hearing the word is the easy part. Hearing by the word is the part people haven’t fully grasped. On a computer, you can either listen by the speakers of it, or using headphones.

It means to have faith, firstly your ears have to keep hearing God’s word until they (your ears) are amputated and replaced by the Word itself. How do I mean?

Imagine your ears as His Holy Word acting as a a sieve; or a filter letting in only what must, and keeping out what shouldn’t!

In my head one time, I had weird ‘radical’ migraines and headaches. I could hear a lying voice say I have a tumor. I then could hear another voice retaliate saying, ‘that’s impossible. All his sickness was bore by someone else.'(1 Pet 2:24)

When another voice of deceit came by whispering that I am broke, another voice retaliated, ‘That’s impossible. He’s a King. He reigns. Wealth and riches are in His house.’ (Rev 5:10, Psa 112:3)

The situations of this world cease to create your reality or to frame your world (Heb 11:3) as when their voices try to whisper to you, the voice of the Word of God fights them for you. It is your judge and determiner. That’s to say, agreeing to only truth and disagreeing with all lies.

For example; If someone compliments you saying, ‘you are beautiful,’ that is in sync with the Word ‘you are fearfully & wonderfully made.’ If someone then says something contrary, the Word (your ears) will refuse any of it, and will block out such nonsense. Why?

If the world is the laptop, and it’s playing music through your earphones, faith is when whatever the world is saying is sieved by the earphones, blocking out what is not true, allowing only what is good & acceptable into your head, for it not only comes by just hearing something, but by what you use to hear all things;

If faith only came by hearing God’s word, many people would be so full of faith. But it says both that, and hearing BY the Word is what brings faith. This means some sort of test has to come to check if you’ll accept whatever you hear or if you’ll remember what He said.

Have you ever sat down in public and the music being played is obscene! Usually we find ourselves moving away to a quiet place or to a place with music that soothes and suits us. In the same way, this is how hearing BY the Word is;

You walking away and refusing to dwell in any atmosphere that is producing sound contrary to the Word of God that you’ve heard over and over.

In conclusion; if you are not hearing God’s word often, then it’ll be hard for you to hear BY His word when temptations or harsh words or corrupt counsel is sent your way.

There’s a law of association here, like how he that walks with the wise becomes wise. When His Word becomes abundant in you, automatically, you start deciphering whatever you hear. You question whatever preaching you hear as some men behind pulpits can be saying things not aligned to God’s Word.

That is faith. You immediately discard propagandas such as ‘In this family we never get richer beyond this point, or never get educated beyond that point.’

‘Is that God’s Word?’ Your ears ask! When it’s not, then understand that His Word has dwelt richly in you, causing you to question status quos and traditions, enabling you to please Him by the only way you can (by faith) provoking Him to reward you for every hearing test you carry out, and condemning every tongue that rises against you to speak what’s contrary to the standard of life He predestined you to live!

Keep hearing God’s Word… Test, judge & filter as well, whatever you hear, by the filter of His Word.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.
