Psalms 30:5 For His anger [is but for] a moment, His favor [is for] life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy [comes] in the morning.
One time, this scripture came up amidst danger and trouble. And immediately I noticed that joy had returned to me, yet ‘morning hadn’t come.’
Note how the psalmist says weeping may… He didn’t say ‘it will’ or ‘would’. This to me means we determine how long we’ll decide to weep for anything;
The power is within us.
As for the morning, I discovered it was figurative. When I meditated upon it deeply, I realized, morning is the Hebrew word ‘boqer’ which means ‘the dawn’, or ‘the breaking forth of light’.
The same psalmist said, in Psalms 119:130 that the entrance of God’s words gives light; and it gives understanding unto the simple.
If this is replaced in the first scripture, we discover that His word gives light, this light brings morning, and this morning comes with joy.
Meaning, in our hard times, in the dark tunnels, in the gloom and doom, as we weep, amidst the blues, one mere thought…one mere glimpse of God’s word, is able to light up all the darkness, or condemnation, or whatever it maybe that’s making us hold our heads down.
Note that the word says ‘the entrance…’ God’s word has to ENTER! The Hebrew word here is pethach, which also means gateway.
If God’s word indeed enters our hearts, when it is believed and stored within us, we’ll find that when we recite it, (like how I did when I was down) there’s a gateway open for us to access or experience what His word says, and with every step we take to accept to walk through any gateway that His Word provides for us, joy is inevitable!
So… Are you down? Your weeping can end!
Are you sad? Your confidence can return now!
Are you ashamed? Your glory can kick back on in now.
Just declare that you’ll soar on wings as eagles, that you’ll rejoice always, that you’re rising and shinning and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. His word’s entrance will stimulate & stir your joy within! And all your grievances will end.
Peace will engulf you. Faith will guard you. And even if the storm you’re going through rages on, sound sleep will raid you as anxiety leaves! Joy is inevitable whenever the revelation of any of His word concerning your situation comes to life!
For instance, whenever my wallet speaks a language I don’t like, I declare Psalm 112:3, which says wealth and riches are in my house. There and then, the normal circumstances regardless, a joy fills up my heart assuring me of a different reality from what my wallet is speaking, and in turn, it as well responds to that reality through faith!
