It just hit me, that as we face this pandemic, your faith has to go through a ceiling it never has. Beyond praying, there is a standard; how do you pray? Are you the beggar of God, or the one who reminds Him of His oaths? Are you the reminder of His oaths, or the one who declares them as an already done deal?
New herbal recipes and concoctions are being discovered on a daily, and the ‘qualified researchers’ do not deem that way of trial-and-error safe. You see, it’s not about just having faith, but having faith in the right thing.
If you study men’s ways, you will realise that they are having faith yes, but placing their faith in a counterfeit. I am not discouraging you from steaming, but I realized that the same faith you place in the blanket and eucalyptus boiled leaves is the same you need to believe that God will keep you from all evil (Psalm 91:10)

My father in the faith once said that a man asking God for rent needs the same measure of faith as a man asking God for a personal house or plot of land. They are just asking for different things but the same faith. It’s like two people going to buy rain shields.
One will buy an umbrella of 30000 shillings. Another will buy a full plastic rain coat with attached boots and cape at the same price. If the rains are so boisterous, the umbrella might be grasped away by the wind for the one who went by that option. She’ll arrive late at work. Wet Brazilian hair, wet bag, wet skin! The rain coat person however might only need to wipe a few drops off her face, and she’ll go on to have a beautiful day—dry Brazilian hair, dry bag, dry everything!
So today I ask, where will you place your faith? Is it in the TV? Are you hoping that the news anchor will say that the recoveries were more in number than the deaths? You could hope forever! The spirit seated on the mountain of media won’t allow the good news to come out as easily as you wish. You will have to create your own good news, or find it in another way.
Is your faith in the doctors or the vaccine? There are people having unpleasant side effects from the vaccination. Many of my family members were counting on it but are now reconsidering…
Is your faith in medicines? I will never forget the day I had a chronic headache. I took over 12 tabs of Panadol, BUT THE HEADACHE grew worse instead! That’s when I went full throttle on faith in the right thing! God; God and His Word.
I told my head to believe that by Jesus’ stripes it had been healed. I cast out the infirmity, and when it exacerbated, I told it how our hope in medicine was no more. After a night or two, I was healed completely. When the pain had insisted, I went crazy; I said ‘I know you are gone, and I will walk by faith and not by sight (or feelings)’ [2 Cor 5:7]
He who trusts IN the Lord is blessed. (Psa 34:8) Maybe you are not blessed because you haven’t trusted in Him. And trusting in Him isn’t partial.
It’s got to be with all your heart (Prov 3:5) The bible, by the way doesn’t tell us not to trust man. It tells us not to trust IN man. ‘IN’ means ‘within the bounds or limits of;’
There are many of us whose trust is within the limits of MAN/MEDICINE. Limits here means that the faith can’t go beyond those confines! And if those confines fail, then your faith has failed too! For example, if it is in doctors, this what a person under that subjection will say;
If Dr. X fails, I’ll go to Dr. Y. If he fails, I’ll go to Dr. Z and back to Dr. A. If herbal K won’t work, I will try marijuana.
Wow, we are trusting the thing God made, more than the one who made it!
For most of us it takes hitting rock bottom to remember that ‘Ey, there’s this guy called God,’ after having spent 40 years on a journey that would have taken 3 days! Don’t wait to first lose all that time. When you trust IN Him 💯, He’ll direct your paths, and fear and anxiety will not be part of you (Jer 17:8) If you don’t, you’ll be a shrub in a desert. Good will come but you won’t see it (Jer 17:6)
Trusting IN Him means, He’ll be a house, and doctor X or steaming will be a certain room you visit within the house but not necessarily staying in it! Meaning, if they fail, your faith can go beyond them trusting a thing mightier and higher that can never fail! Some of us chose to breakdown all internal walls of the house, so that the house is one big giant room called God!
He is my confine! My limitation. If He says there’s more, then there’s more. And He can never fail! Only we fail! If the doctor tells you ‘there’s nothing we can do…’ And he gives you a death sentence, it’d be nice to know that there’s someone who if He hasn’t sentenced you to death, then no death will come gallivanting your way!
So, let God watch over you for even with all sorts of sanitization and masking, some people have still contracted the thing they tried to avoid. I’m not saying don’t wear your mask. I’m only beseeching you not to idolize or worship it. (Deut 5:7)
I personally enjoy lots of ginger and cinnamoned tea, but they also run out at some point…unlike God.
‘Unless God watches over you, you watch over yourself in vain’ (Psalm 127: 1-2)
‘For as the mountains surround Jerusalem, He surrounds you’ (Psa 125:2)
‘When you place your trust IN Him, He will preserve you from all evil, even as you go out and come in’ (Psa 121:7-8)
However, if you dare misplace your trust, and even doubt an ounce that this omnipotent God can’t shield you from this virus, you won’t receive whatever He has promised (James 1: 6-7)

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [Him,] for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and [that] He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
The reward will only come when you’ve recognized that HE IS…
That He is the protection you’re looking for. That He’s the health you’re praying for. That He’s the provision you’re believing for.
And the reward is what you’re looking, praying and believing for.
