My father in the faith once talked about ‘Beast mode’. He had to preach early morning Sunday, and on that fateful Saturday evening, he was stuck in jam on Masaka road hours away from his home and yet he needed to prepare for 3 services due the following morning!
He didn’t care about what was on the road or whether there was an ambulance. He had to get home and prepare. He went beast mode. VROOOM he shot! Somewhere beyond 100kph. Third lane what—what! A sermon had to be prepared. Tens of thousands were on the wait on the other end and he is that one person who can not play around with people’s lives…
Ephesians 4:26-27 “Be angry, and do not sin”. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
It just occurred to me that the bible here doesn’t say ‘do not angry!’ Deeper into the conversation, God made me realise that there are things He expects us to be angry about! And indeed if we were created in His image, we got this from Him.
‘Cut a wire’ is what we call it! There are some things that annoy God as well, and we too have to be annoyed if His DNA is indeed in us.
Last week, (and it is not the first time), I climbed aboard a boda and thoughts of accidents started playing in my mind. I cut a wire! I told the boda to behave and remembered the promise that no evil would befall me (Psalm 91:10). Since I was real pissed, I interrogated the boda man to find out whether he was born again.
He didn’t receive Jesus yet, but I preached to him as he had began claiming how accidents and poverty are everywhere in the world. I told him to come into Christ, and all the poverty in him would be suspended indefinitely.
We also see David cut a wire when he hears that an uncircumcised philistine called Goliath was tormenting the men of the nation God chose. Driven by it outwardly, and the knowledge of the covenant, he slew the giant!
I have heard sayings of ‘holy anger’, I think it doesn’t exist or it could be redefined to being mad over things God would be mad about. For example; many of us beg disease to leave,as if they begged it in the first time to come. It is like they have no authority over it. That’s not cutting a wire.
Jesus DIED for your health. It’s illegal for you to allow anything lower than perfect health. It is even wicked to say it is God’s will for you to be sick! Why did He BEAR your sickness and die with it in the first place if He wanted you to have it again?
It doesn’t make sense. If I have cleared your debt for you, the only way for you to think you’re still in debt is either because you were lied to that the debt exists or … you don’t that the debt was cleared!
If you don’t have what God expects you to have, and you are okay with it, you’re living a lie! If the Bible says Jesus became broke so that you’d be RICH, refuse the notion that you are broke.
If your wallet is empty, tell yourself it is a lie, and remind you that you walk by faith and not by sight. By what He has said and not how you feel!
People you know are dying and you’re not sure whether they are born again—cut a wire! That pain or situation has taken long in your body—cut a wire! Everytime you decide to fast your stomach remembers to call upon ulcers—cut a wire! The enemy keeps telling you you are not good enough or pretty enough—cut a wire!
My father in the faith had a reason worth speeding up and breaking some rules in order to deliver! Jesus drove out he market people who had turned His father’s temple into a bargaining place!
The theme scripture said ‘be angry and do not sin’… Meaning for us, it is the opposite; doing acts of righteousness as a result of being angry.
…No wonder Smith Wigglesworth boxed people with tumors and fibroids. He was angry at the way the enemy was tormenting people… And fortunate enough, after the boxing, the fibroids and tumors went out flying!
Generally, Cut a wire over things that ought to be and yet they are not! May He give you an anger to get back and live in what’s yours!
Psalms 4:4 Be angry, and do not sin….
